thats one of the great things about the Sport Top - the way it opens makes getting in and out the same as having no top

Edward Neal , I haven't seen that one. That looks like it might work for me. Thanks

I've tried my best to get into 3 different Slingshots with tops. No way can I get in any of them. Even though I would like a top I can't use one. Topless all the way.
So the SS is just a reconfigured Pontiac solstice....
Bigdog, You might say an SS is a Solstice in disguise.
canegrinder one suggestion is to sit in as many seats as possible, seek local riders and ask them to let you try their seats so you can have an informed opinion on what feels best for you.
I sat on as many seats as possible and even made trip to race shops and events and sat on the seats there too, one of the shops had the most comfortable and best looking seat I have sat on(that would fit the slingshot) but at $1900 per seat those Recaro were a bit out of the budget plus I was afraid if you put recaros on the sling people would steal the slingshot just to get the seats... but damn they were comfortable and nice.
Luckily you are in florida and you have many local racing shops and many local rider events for you to find something that fits you
Neosolidus I sat on a set of PRP's Saturday They were the $1299.00 ones from Slingmods. I'm thinking the $949.00 ones would be close to the comfort of the higher price ones. They were very comfortable. I think I'm sold on the PRP's.
The dealer changed my starter under warranty but the “Polaris” part was listed at over $500 on the bill...plus labor....
There is no reason for us to pay upcharged prices for off the shelf common parts...
Bigdog, Like I said earlier if it says Motorcycle or Polaris Slingshot the price goes up. Drivetrain parts can be found at Rockauto.com under Pontiac Soltise 2007-2010.
I looked at the cipher seats. Not much choice in colors.
Display Moreno worries you can always ask questions, you might not get the answers you want but that is besides the point.....
They recline and slide(both) the price includes sliders for both(PRP don't) and as i said if you wait for a Holiday(Hint memorial day is not to far away) Cipher offers a lot of discounts.
Cipher also has brackets or you can buy any brand,I use planted brackets since i found a pair for 100(Thanks scott!)
Personally I have sat on Gen 1 and Gen 2 and Gen 1 is more comfortable than Gen 2 as far as butt cushion goes but neither of them is more comfortable than my Cipher(in my opinion).
Neosolidus Thank you. I got the answers I wanted. Its going to be a while before I buy seats anyway I have to save up for them. I'm just doing my research now. I'll only get one chance to make the right decision before I pull the Plug.
Get a gel cushion for either your butt or back... That'll change the feel. I have one and used it when driving from California to Texas and when I drove from Texas to Indiana. It helped...
Of course, I'm 35 and have aftermarket Ciphers as well... So YMMV... 👍
MiM. Ordered a cushion from Walmart today for my butt. Cushion will have to suffice until I can afford seats.
Neosolidus , I hate to be a pest but I would like to ask one more question; Do the seat backs recline or fold forward.
which is why I asked you to define what you are looking for comfort.
They have good lumbar support, they fit me like a glove and reduce G force stress/body roll during spirited driving and my butt does not go numb like it did with the stock seats.
They don't get extremely hot when sitting out in the sun unlike the stock seats that you could use them to fry an egg and as long as you take care of them(Lemon pledge/Lucas Detailer) the material does not fade/crack and it has been very water resistant(please understand that no leather/vinyl seat is water proof regardless of how much anyone wants to say they are).
Neosolidus I've looked at these seats and they look great. The suspension seats look the most comfortable but I'm not sure they would fit my SS. I like yours and they are $409. for a pair + $129.00 for brackets. Did you have to get brackets??
I bought the PRP Gen 1 seats. My wife loves them and she has back problems, so that is pretty important. I find them a little tight through the shoulders, but still more comfortable than stock (2016.5). I am debating adding some padding up top to push my upper body out a little more.
I would really recommend trying before buying if possible. Obviously different body types will have different opinions about what works.
JamesB I looked at the PRP seats. I don't know if my Butt is worth $1299.00 for no more riding than I do. Today was an exception, I rode 296 miles I stopped just long enough to get gas then back in the seat. Of course age may have something to do with my tired butt.
You won’t like the prices...
Bigdog You are right I don't like the prices. In fact I don't like the prices of anything for Slingshots But I have to live with them if I want to be comfortable in my old age. LOL
Neosolidus Good looking seats. They look like racing seats. I didn't think racing seats would be comfortable. That's a lot of red!
What seats are the most comfortable? Polaris SLR or Aftermarket Suspension Seats. I just came back from a long ride and I'm worn out. The stock seats in my SL do not have a lot of support so I'm thinking my next upgrade will be Seats. Opinions welcome. Probably another dead horse!
canegrinder for someone to receive a notification you need to put the @ symbol first
Followed by the user name as in Cape Sling ^^^^^^
DER I'll try to remember that.
I'm in Cape Coral, not far from Wingshots's new house. I have a trach and the SS was just too hot for me here in Florida. I'm back on two wheels now. Flybuddy is local here too. I was in Germany for around 24 years and was OEM'd in New Hampshire.
I had to go in the opposite direction. I guess I got to Old to ride on 2 wheels. It got to the point that every time my wife rode with me we dumped it. She is a lefty and had to mount the bike from the right side. I just could not hold it up., Answer to problem. Slingshot!!
I just got back from a ride. I now have 2300 miles on it. I bought mine in Oct. 2018 and I do enjoy it.
Of course you are member canegrinder ! They even let me join, being a plank holder did not hurt, LOL Other than being military this group is the tightest! I do not even own a SS anymore, I visit my friends.
Cape Sling, What part of SW Florida are you in. I'm from Sumter County originally was born in Bushnell and raised in Lake Panasoffkee.
LOL, glad you figured it out, will leave my post up if anyone else needs it.
I think I'll leave it like it is. I am computer Illiterate. I know how to get E-mail and to run my Karaoke show and that is about it.
I guess I figured it out.
I managed to upload a picture of my SS to my profile. Now how do I get on my Posts??
Welcome to the SS family my friend. Enjoy your new machine. I joined a couple of weeks ago but haven't had the SS out of the garge since I bought her home a couple weeks ago. Anyhoo, be safe and enjoy!!!
