Here's one...I pulled up to an intersection heading south waiting at a red. Car going west to east starts to make a u-turn and as he is in the middle of the u-turn sees me in front of him and is clearly focused on the sling and slows down his u-turn meanwhile oncoming traffic towards his way starts blowing the horn and has to slow down while this guy gets his mind focused back on the road and speeds up the u-turn...True story. To say this thing turns heads would be an understatement.

I had some genuinely nice comments from the 20-something car mod crowds at stoplights. There they are driving around their heavily modded civics and other small cars and they flash me a big smile and thumbs up. Very classy.

I try not to look to the left or right when I'm next to other cars because everyone is interested or looking at the Sling. I don't like a lot of attention......I know, I bought the wrong vehicle for that! I just keep my dark shades on, look straight ahead and smile and enjoy the Sling, unless they wave their hand at me or something and then I'll engage in conversation.

My thing is when driving on the main roads, city streets, etc (not the highway) I tend to look at the faces of the drivers heading towards me. The front of the Sling looks menacing! It especially draws extra attention with the led halo rings because people have no idea what the heck it is coming towards them with 2 to 6 halo rings lit up.

The Slingshot is fairly old now for being out for about 3 years or so. Most people know what they are, but in most cases have never seen one up close and sitting next to them at a stop light or parked next to them at the store, etc. We own a cool looking machine and I'm loving every minute of it. Enjoy!

Yeah well, it's good that you trust Justina in such a way....good 4 you, as you should. Same way u know your wife, the same way I know mine. My wife has a history of not caring and tearing up tires and wheels on her and my previous/present vehicles........ so yeah, I may or may not let her drive the SS because I drive 99% of the time EVERYWHERE we go and I know deep down that she really doesn't have a desire to do it anyway.

When I got the SS the wife said she was going to get lessons to learn how to drive a stick because I told her she was going to LEARN on this SS. I then saw the article on Polaris teaching riders to drive stick for free for the month. I was sitting next to her when I saw it........ I was about to say something and then I hesitated. I told myself that if I tell her about this, I would then realize the exact moment when I made the decision to have my wheels get curb rashed, make-up all over the interior, trash in the SS, paint scrapes, dings, etc. I decided to keep the information to myself. I will more than likely tell her about it, so I can have her help drive on longer trips, but I just hate the way she drives and she never stays focused which scares the pants off of me. She drives sooooo cautious that she will cause a accident from other motorist trying to get around her. I have no issues driving long distances, so I may just keep this info to myself.

I always keep the full face helmet behind the seat when I'm not wearing it. I typically wear a 3/4 helmet most of the time. I have the stock tall windshield so the 3/4 helmet is perfect. I don't get too much wind and I can hear the radio as clear as if the SS was parked. My wife and I just came back from a 3-hour trip and we both had our 3/4 helmets on with the tall windscreen and she watched a couple of movies throughout the entire trip and the sound was great with the 3/4 helmet/tall windscreen combination and I was rolling anywhere between 75-90 mph! Here in the Midwest, you always have to be ready for the pop up shower or rainy day, so the full face helmet and the rain gear are ALWAYS in the SS.

OUCH!! I clipped one the other day in my suv. I was only going like 30mph. Once I saw him flying into my path I knew he wasn't going to make up and he never pulled up like they tend to do. Next think I know I have feathers coming in through my sunroof which was wide open. I pulled over about a 100 feet later to see if he was stuck to my grille, but he was long gone. Don't know if he limped off or got polished off by the car following me once he hit the ground.

I would also like to see and hear some feedback on this. I've considered but have not looked into prices or the pro's and cons.

Welcome to Team Slingshot. Enjoy your new ride and put some miles on her. Browse through the forums and you'll see whatever questions you may have, most like have already been answered. But anyways, you'll get more ideas and a better understanding of your SS from this site.

Enjoy and be safe my friend!
