Hey, yes we were slow to the party. I personally had a 3k deposit filed for over a year, but except for the odd ice storm or thunderstorm, I can ride almost everyday! So.....

It will all be Good Jim. I am sure the great people of Laredo know who the best perosn for the job is and you will have extra income for those mods you want. You will also have more time to get them done as Momma will have 40 hrs a weeks to put in leaving you unsupervised! she doesnt read the forums does she?

Ok the Ride Command is the radio/GPT/ info center on the 18 SLR. They are not suppose to be back compadable for previous years slings. The reason you probobly see a lot of reds and grays that are used availalble is that the first couple of years that were the only colors available. I ordered mine in 15 before they were even legal in Texas. I Got one of the fast red ones. As far as wheels, i am still running my stock and havent reallyseen the need to change. I think shocks are a different matter. They can really improve your ride. Handling is great. A couple of years ago a group of us did the dragon. I think there was 8 or 10 of us in a group. Most of us were experenced motorecycle riders and kinda push it a little. As near as I could tell we never got more than 5 to 10 feet of seperation. When we got to the end we had lost our rear rider. aAfter about 10 minnwe were getting concerned and we about to go back tolook for wreckage whenhe showed up. He had gotten stopped by a Tenn Hwy Patrol motor officer. He didnt write him a ticket but the officer gave him a message for the group. As best as i recall it was “ Yall are driving too fast, you’re ridding too close, and put you’re damn helmets on!!!” Honestlly it holds the road better than any bike I ever rode with the possible exception of my KZ1000 police intercepter!
As far as turbos, almost everyone that I know that has one has had problems. Some have gone to superchargers. I really dont personally see the need but to each their own. When you buy a used anyting make sure you see the maintance records. If he doesnt have them be wary. Most guys (and gals) i know take such good care of their slings you could probobly eat out of the engine compartment.

Guys like you that have the right to comment on what they would do. However, I am a Trump supporter and unhappy with his comment. For him to say he would have run in there with no weapon is absurd IMO. Sometimes I wish he could learn to be a little more....quiet :00008172:

I agree with you Bill, there are a lot of things I like about Trump and many things I don’t like. Manly sometimes I wish he would just shut the fuck up!

I have been in this situation, you don’t know, you never KNOW. You do as General Custer said, “March to the guns!” That’s the job

Well my perspective is a little different and my opinions have changed over the days since the incident. I spent 30 years running to the gunfire. I am not saying that to pat myself on the back. I’m saying it because I’ve been there. When I first came on the job our training was “ hold the perimeter and wait for SWAT”. The training officers I had told me that in a perfect world that was what you would do, but if you are on the scene “ only you know what to do”. The alway showed me to go in. They never told me to, they just lead by example. All that changed after Columbine! After that we were taught to attack an active shooter. I pity the deputy or deputies that were on scene cause they will have to live with the fact that kids died because they stood down. I have seen cops eat their gun for less. Not suggesting that, just saying it will eat at them. They are going to need help

In all honesty talking about the Sheriff, if it was just one deputy, ok bad Apple. If there were four deputies there as I have heard, that’s a leadership issue and he has to go.

Ok / got another question to throw out there - Deputy Scot Perterson’s lawyer made a statement today that Mr. Peterson was not a coward and he thought the shots were being fired OUTSIDE the school. I gotta say I think he is gonna have a real hard time selling that. If that was true then why did he retire immediately?? What y’all think???

You know Bill, a lawyer is talking, and you want to trust what he said?? Come on Bill your better than that!

I am not saying that what he did/did not do was correct, but, believe it or not, up until a couple of years ago, some police agencies were TRAINED to stay out of the fight until backup arrives. It is possible that he was following his training. It is also possible that the Sheriff just threw his deputy under the bus because he is another elected official and the last thing he wants to admit during this shitstorm is that his deputy was just following his training. Thankfully, we are now being trained to engage as quickly as possible.

That was preColimbine! Since the we train to intercede. Active shooter training is an annual occurrence, at least as of 2011 when I retired
