I did not know this before I found a write up on it. I will just use the H-11 as an example. All H-11 lamps are not the same as to the projection pattern, it has to do how and where the LED's are located on the lamp base. I do not know enough to really explain it but I read something about it last year. If I remember correctly they vary according to the type of base that they are to be used in and some will be brighter than others.

One of the biggest problems is the lack of consistency on length between all of the LED bulbs out there.

All projector housings designed for halogen bulbs have a focal point where the filament is. Quite often, LED bulbs are longer than halogen, placing the actual LED source farther in the housing. While the bulb itself may be brighter, it ends up scattering the light because it is not at the optimum focal point of the housing. Basically, more light but scattered everywhere instead of focused in front of you.

There are some better LED bulbs that actually have a little allen head that allows you to adjust how deep the LED bulb sits in the housing. I put a set of these in my wife's car and adjusted them. These work awesome. Or, you may get lucky and find a fixed one that is the same length as a halogen.

With HID bulbs, even when the bulb is longer, the filament is also longer. So, there is still the maximum bright spot in the focal area. Although, most that I have used are almost identical length as the halogen equivalent.

I replaced all factory bulbs with 35 Watt 5000K HID bulbs and drivers.

    HUGE difference.

The H3's are "Kensun" brand. An excellent company with great customer service. They actually sent me a free harness when the bulbs flickered in another vehicle due to a CanBus thing.

    The H11's are "Innovited" brand.

Both have been installed for 2 full seasons without any failure.

yeah, with all this time I'm finally going to try tackling my under LEDs... Wish me luck!

I am pretty interested in those headlights you got there.

How do you like? Is the beam spot, flood, or a combo?

    What brand?

How did they mount into the stock frame?

Since mine is a 2017, the factory buckets limit me to just the outside 2.

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

Added heating elements I bought on Amazon to my stock SL seats. Controlling them from my phone using the Neutrino black box. No other switches installed. Rode to work at 28 degrees in the morning and had to turn them down to 50% ten minutes down the road.

Do you have a link for the elements that you used?

I have been considering going this route but, after sifting through so many reviews, have concerns about the quality of so many being sold on Amazon, etc.

    Thanks!

Same here. Without question.... most bang for the buck......even if you have to pay full price.

I am a "set it and forget it" kind of person. It has been on Sport +3 since week 1.

Is it sensitive? My smile says YES!

Is that setting the best for bumpy down town city roads? Maybe not but, My smile says YES!

What brand of wing do you have?

Is it aluminum? What width? Do you know how tall the included mount bracket is?

Did you fab brackets to secure to subframe?

How do you like it? Any movement or whistles at speed?

Sorry for all the questions but, I have been looking at many similar spoilers and don't want to order something I would be unhappy with.

    Thanks!

update, finally had a full day off of work and took a spirited ride. Very enjoyable with the new wings, I didn’t have my shirt sleeve up around my shoulder from the wind. The only drawback is the bracketing is a bit heavy and The windshield Flexes when I hit bumps, I am OK with this drawback and for 10 bucks it was a great investment for me!

After I added Baker side wings, my stock ripper fluttered quite a bit on each side.

I used some parts available on Amazon to make windshield strut supports.

There is zero flutter at any speed now.

    What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies.....?

Since it was 59F at 5:30pm yesterday, my Wife and I took the Sling to go vote.

Got caught in a bit of rain on the ride home.

    Still, WELL worth it.

Anytime you can get a day above 50 during a New England winter, you take advantage!

You wont have to worry about a retro fit kit. The front end is completely different. And I'm not just talking about where stuff bolts up and things like that. The Frame actually comes to a narrower point in the front of the new slingshot.

Bummer! I was diggin the new headlights.

If Polaris were to offer an entire retro-fit kit to upgrade the headlights for previous models......I bet there would be high demand on the kit.

The hood latches, etc appear the same. Perhaps they redesigned the ribbing support to cut down on flappy fender. Although, my 2017 doesn't seem to have that. The front hood stops make contact with the hood and I always make certain that I push both sides of the rear as sometimes the rear latches need that little extra to engage.

I would imagine that, with the lighter engine, they changed valving and/or swaybar. I have changed my shocks and swaybar to DDMWorks and that made a world of difference.

I like the design changes. No plans to trade mine in but, Polaris certainly appears to have improved.

Being in LE the better part of my life, the electronic sound doesn't move people any better than anything else. It is unique to a POV so it may work better. The Tornado is pretty loud and it was $44.50. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/pr…tle_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Are you running directly from the factory horn circuit?

When I changed to the Hella horns, one of my goals was to make it louder while still being able to use the factory circuit. Basically, plug and play (no additional wiring).

I thought about going with one of these mini air horns but, most pull around 20 amps and would have required a relay and dedicated power. Not really a big deal.... I will claim lazy at the time.

BTW.... I like your avatar. I assume you were originally from New England?

I replaced my factory horn with these from HelIa. Much louder than stock.

    Hella horns

I have been considering one of these electronic horns from Lamphus. My thoughts are that, being an electronic sound, it would be more noticeable. The general public seem to be immune to the sound of a normal horn. It claims to draw just over 4 amps. Youtube videos seem to be loud.

For painted surfaces and windscreen - Lucas Oil Slick Mist Speed Wax. I believe I switched to this after seeing posts from Doc. Previous product was Shine Armor (good but over twice the cost)

For black plastics - CarGuys Plastic Restorer. Tried this after some Jeep guys recommended. It can bring faded junk back to new. On the Slingshot, it leaves the plastic in deep black with an amazing matte shine. Lasts for months.

I wouldn't go with foam myself - my experience is that all foam breaks down over time - especially in outdoor applications.

    That is my major concern.

Should they wear out quickly (or get grungy from dirt / oil on shoes) - How difficult are they to remove? How much sticky residue will be left bonded to the floors and tunnel?

I also added a link to the op. The "super plush" version offered by Slingmods.

Hey Doc, what set did you get?
