My concern as well. I wanted more feedback on long term use before I purchased any.

I have the Slingmods carpets [driver and passenger side with the optional firewall mat] .....Well Over a year now and over 10k on them , Quiets the cabin 'no wear and never bunch up...highly recommend them..

Off the wall question, actually, they are hanging on the wall, a set of low mileage take-off shocks off of a 2015. What I am curious about is what should be the time/life of these shocks while hanging in limbo?

    Thanks,

    Bill

If they are the stock shocks that came with the Sling....5 Minutes after you first hung them....:D

I didn’t drive my dune buggy in the rain but I drove it in snow...in the woods...

quads have heaters and roofs and windshields so they can be driven in the rain and snow....all season vehicle for hard core people.

if the slingshot came with a heater would that help?

Yes.....Maybe not in Dec'Jan'Feb............But Out here in the northeast for 9 months yes it would help...

Polaris has heaters for their Side -By's........I ride all winter but thats just me i don't mind the cold, Cause i don't have a mind....Or so everyone who sees me riding in sub 25 degree temps says i must be out of my mind..:/.....The Polaris dealer near gave up the Slingshot franchise cause he couldn't sell any in the winter.....No one would even take one out for a test ride....

Not with a Slingshot.....But with a Spyder i had...This was back in 08 one of the first Spyder's on the road,.

I was at a gas station hand on the nozzle nursing the gas in , And this wide eyed guy come running over and asked me is thats one of those electric three wheelers?....So i said 'Yes it is...But the clock runs on gas and thats why i'm filling the tank with gas....Went right over his head..;)....

With the Slingshot the Usual , Who makes it 'Is it a kit car..ETC....

I live in Atlanta and I've never worn a helmet! The only helmeted SS drivers I've ever seen were in rentals. The police usually just give me a wave or a thumbs up in admiration. Been right beside Cobb, Fulton, and GSP cars many times with no problems.

Sent from my SM-G955U using Polaris Slingshot Forum mobile app

Theres always one new guy on the job who just got done reading the rule book....'Or the classic ,

I wouldn't have stopped you 'But you did it right in front of me....^^...

you can get 3 Do it yourself oil changes for that much....

5 quarts valvoline synthetic at Walmart $25 ......Walmart has the cheapest oil prices.....

    Filter $5...

I can afford not to shop at Walmart......I stoped bottom fishing for stuff years ago....

I Get the Slingshot oil change kit [Oil and Filter] from Edwards Motorsport from Amazon.....Deviled to my door..

    85 Dollars........

I changed the oil at just under 1 thousand...Then at 5 thousand a notice came up on the radio/screen 'Change Oil Soon'' i changed it at 6 thousand....I have a 2018 SL ...I have over 10 thousand on the odometer now...Waiting to see if the notice comes up again at 11 thousand...

And by the way .....There isn't such a thing as break-in oil....That went out in the early 60's....

Upper 50's....??? I have underwear older than that......^^...

It looks like they are still using the dollar store shocks......At least they tucked in the sideview mirrors stalks.

I know its early so far, But with what i can see , That and 20 cents will get you a ride in the Subway....

If they are pining their hopes on and Auto and maybe a new engine ....That might give them another year or two......Then its Victory all over again....

Front wheel drive would be the smart move, This way the rear wheel will be along just for the ride...

And no more Rube Goldberg rear belt /Angle drive ......Like the Vanderhall..
