Another thing I got in the mail from Polaris was that they are offering 5 yr warranties on remaining 2018's. It's a 2 yr factory and then a pre-paid 3 yr add on for a total of 5 years. I checked and my 2016.5 SL is worth more than I owe on it . . . . . .

Looking at Craigslist this morning and there is a dealer in Shawnee Oklahoma that has pretty aggressive pricing on new 2018’s. They have a new 2017 SL listed for $16,999. Not sure what the dealer add on costs are like freight and prep. Looks like all the 2018 models are marked down, not just a couple of models. Making room for the 2019’s no doubt.
Word is that the State of Texas and OK will start making OK dealers charge sales tax to Texas residence so I’m sure they are trying to lighten their inventory.

Let's all do everything that we can to promote the Slingshot. I had 3 different people driving my Slingshot over the weekend. Over the 70,000 miles I have on my Slingshot --- lots of people I just meet have driven it. I have also taken lots & lots for rides....
This is a vehicle that really has to be riden to appreciate. Promote the test drives and the SS sells itself!

I flew to West Palm Beach FL for a great deal on a 15 for @HeRSling last summer. 2800 miles and most of the mods one would want. Didn’t stop Patti though. She had it painted by St. Painter and then started adding more stuff. New seats, DDM sway bar and coolant tank, wheels, and she’s thinking about a supercharger like mine.
Question on the painting. Did they have to disassemble all of the body panels or did they paint it as is? I am looking at doing a full paint job and was wondering what was entailed so I could get some quotes.

The dealer I've been working with since I test drove the base 2018 S MODEL has given me the best price in the 3 different locations I've checked... $19,800 with windshield, colored grill and belt cover. But the longer I mull over this the more I'm beginning to come to my senses. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have it. Also, the base 2019 S MODEL is white and I want the 2018 black, so waiting for the 2019 is something I don't want to do.
I would definitely wait until Polaris reveals the new models. You will save money and there will be dealers who are still sitting on their 2018 inventory because it will take a month or two before they get the 2019 models in their showrooms. Also, I don’t believe any dealers know the new colors until The official reveal. They are likely trying to scare you into buying NOW. Like I said, my wife owns a rather large dealership and they don’t know the new colors of the 2019 models yet.

How do you go from 18k to 35k? Does the base model have so few features? You are talking about a 17k price difference here (granted, I include tax/title/tags).
$35k is pretty high. MSRP for the Grand Touring LE is $29,999.

I would definitely shop around if I were you. I’ve seen the SL sell for around that price. It would be worth the drive to find a volume dealership and save $3k or more.
