Attention Vendors. Please email robert@rabtech.com any instruction manuals you may have for your products. They will be added to the FILEBASE tab for members to access.

I understand the point your are making, but have you actually seen this happen, as your example? Where a vendor replied saying "buy x, it's great" and it wasn't clear it was the vendor?

I'm pretty sure if a vendor did that, especially more than once and was pushy, they wouldn't be a vendor here long, or they'd have a lot of members yelling at them.

We are a family, don't always all get along, as all good families do, but you won't see much in the way of shenanigans going on from the vendors, even our favorite ones.

He seems to be as thick headed as our usual catastrophic offender but less funny, I tried telling him that for as long as I have been here(since 2016) only one person has stepped over the line and was quickly remedied by the members without the admins even having to step in.

brireeves629 please post a link to a thread showing vendors being pushy, disruptive or whatever the heck you are complaining about(outside of their vendor area) otherwise lets just move on.

Who do you think I am? I haven’t been on here since 2016. I am a relatively new member.

I definitely have felt the “family” atmosphere and there are clearly only opinions welcome if they fall in line with the general consensus. Otherwise the pitchforks come out.

Admin, please remove my information from this website. I have no interest in belonging to a group of people who are so negative toward the opinions of newcomers.

Social media is a great way to market your company. If you feel it these vendors are doing what they do because of loyalty to the community of Slingshot owners then that’s your opinion. I believe they are in business to make money based on the prices they have for a lot of very simple products. That’s just my opinion. I don’t stand to make any money from the use of this forum. I also do not blame a vendor for using social media to market their company. They would be stupid not to. But I wish this forum was void of that.

Facebook is an excellent social media vehicle for keeping in touch with family and friends for those of us in a fast paced, never ending to do list, 60+ hour work week types... it is a black abyss of endless people places and things. Endless indeed. I use Facebook to keep in contact with FACES.

I would not go to Facebook to research products.

    This forum exists of:

    1.) Slingshot owners

2.) Slingshot owners who have products installed and can give me the best and the worst of product reviews.

3.) Slingshot Vendors post items with discount codes or group buy discounts.

4.) Slingshot Info is not only a name but an all inclusive, family of slingshot lovers with mod fever or recovering from mod fever, the name is a literal meaning.

If I wanted to research Dyson vacuums to purchase I wouldn't be going to Facebook to do so.

I have visited a few times to such watered down, slingshot pages on Facebook. I do not recommend getting your research there... the opinions and advice is so broad - others commenting on such that have NO IDEA what they are saying, and no one offers a rebuttal because - there is no filter for slingshot owners comments only.

With the upmost respect, I am flabbergasted- The word fits - at hearing someone say they prefer Facebook when investigating / researching/ parusing for slingshot products.

I don't go see my doctor, when my car sputters and coughs...

I think you have lost touch with what Facebook has become. It is a marketplace now and most companies MUST utilize to keep up with competition. I am sure most vendors here can agree with that.

I never said I prefer Facebook to research product. Please don’t put words in my mouth. I use this site to research and investigate. But if I come on here to ask what exhaust system is preferred, I want to hear from other riders who have the various exhaust systems and what they like or don’t like. What I don’t want is to find out that I am actually communicating with a Welter rep (example only) telling me which exhaust system they think is the best.

Do you all not see a conflict with this?

BYW, I own the Welter dual exhaust and love it. I was only using Welter as an example.

brireeves629 you are not being single out for bashing vendors but for implying that we should be more like evilbook groups.
I’m sorry perhaps I was unclear. I was only pointing out that FB has strict policies in place for vendors to make sure that the experience isn’t bombarded with constant solicitations. It is not a perfect system by any means, but I can’t even imagine how bad it would be if the policies they have weren’t in place. I don’t think this forum is that way at all, but as the forum grows, that may change and it may not be a bad idea to have some policies in place to protect the dynamics of the forum from being corrupted.

Clearly only specific vendor supportive opinions are allowed.

Please elaborate... I have NEVER put down another company's products if they were not a vendor here. They just cant advertise their products on here. A member can brag on them all they want and show off their goodies all they want.
I mean I am being bashed now for saying something negative about vendors, hence the statement: “only vendor supportive opinions are allowed”. I wasn’t bashing vendors. The question was how we like vendors posting on here and my answer was that I don’t like not knowing whether or not I am getting an opinion from a vendor or an end user. I didn’t attack anyone in particular nor was I putting down any vendors... Just giving an opinion. Ban me if you like, I will keep riding...

I have said this many times before but I choose to support vendors who are part of the active community in THIS forum and avoid those who are not regardless of how good of a deal they offer, although I am forced to use evilbook due to my day job but I try to limit my exposure to as little as possible.

If you like evilbook better than this forum that's you choice and good luck with it, but do not come here and try to tell us that this forums needs to be more like evilbook.
I don’t believe that is what I said at all. The question was about vendors and THIS forum. Clearly only specific vendor supportive opinions are allowed. I thought being a Slingshot owner was the only prerequisite for having an opinion here. I was wrong and I apologize for offending anyone.

If you want an opinion on something all you have to do is ask. This is not FACEBOOK. I personally will not waste my time with facebook. There is an opinion for you and you did not even ask.
I belong to three or four Slingshot groups on Facebook and I love everyone of them. They are all local and it’s easy to Find someone to ride with or find out if any local events that are happening for Slingshot owners. There is also a group on Facebook that is dedicated just to vendors and people buying and selling things related to Slingshot. I love that group as well and I’m glad they are separate. Say what you will about Facebook, but they know how to make a great experience.

I was up at 2:30 this morning and I was doing some thinking. Somehow I want our online family to reach out to our vendors and let them know that you care that they are on the forum. Our vendors on the forum only know how many views their banners get and how many people click on their banner advertising. It doesn't really let them know that you buy your products with a bias toward them being here on the forum. When I say "bias" I mean that you know that they are here on the forum. You know that if something goes wrong or if a product fails they are here in the slingshotinfo.com family. You know you can get some help in some form. You know

The more I think about it the more you really have to respect the vendors for being on this forum. They can take a public beating if everything doesn't go perfect before , during , and after the sale. This being said, we have some of the best vendors for slingshot parts and supplies. When I look through the list of vendors here I'm proud to say that we have all the vendors that have the best products.

I guess all I'm asking is that if you can work it into a conversation or email when your making a purchase with a vendor here on the forum is that you let them know you appreciate them being here on the forum. I am sure they know already but it never hurts to remind them. Heck even if you see a vendor setup at an event it wouldn't even hurt to stop in and quickly say hi and let them know you seen them on the forum.

    That's all I ask.

    Thanks....

I don’t like the vendors here. It makes me visit the site less. I like the way FB polices the vendors by only allowing them to post on Tuesday. Or they should label the fact that they are a vendor in their status or user name.

When I come on here and ask about a product, I assume (and hope) that another end user is giving me an objective opinion. More than not, it is a vendor that responds. IMO, it takes away from the spirit of this being a Slingshot OWNERS group. Again, just my opinion...

This may go without saying, but if you want to get better performance from your Welter dual exhaust, you must also get the upgraded Header. When I first put my exhaust in, I attached it to the stock header then changed the header out 3 months later. There was a noticeable difference in sound with just the exhaust, but when I changed the header was when I could tell that I was getting more HP. I believe that is the reason Welter started giving headers away with every exhaust purchase. Definitely two products that work well together.

Is Lite Your Slings unwilling to sponsor this veterans group without the banner being displayed? Seems like the conflict is with the sponsor and not the Veterans group.

I am a veteran as well, but my interest in this hobby and it’s events is to meet other SS owners, not other veterans. We have a local legion for that. No offense to anyone, but this seems to be a political issue and mixing politics with Slingshots is an Oxymoron...

Dude! I can here that here in Washington state! Seriously, that looks incredible and I hope you put up a sound clip or two even though they will never do it justice. Gonna have to hear that in person. Did you use a sub with those massive speakers? also, does the rear tower have rearward and forward facing speakers? Congratulations man, I've never seen anything like this.

Thanks! The tower has passive radiators on the front side. There are also two 6 x 9 to match the tower speakers inside where the factory speaker pods were. No there is not a subwoofer The system doesn’t need them. Those are 10” full range speakers with compression horn tweeters. I will definitely post a video. Where in Washington State? I grew up there..
