For me, with Madstad 13", Gull Wing Roof, and Rear Deflector, I get almost no air in the cab. I also have the front side fenders removed plus the DDM Hood Vents, but that was after the above. Truthfully, I have found some times that I put my hand out to the side to get some air.

How far up/down do you have your Madstad adjusted? I keep mine about 1" above the dash to allow some air to come through underneath the windshield. It creates an air bubble in the cab (similar to a pickup truck) that forces the air up and over. I can even wear a ball cap with no issues.

I have the Madstad adjustable windshield. But I also have a roof and a rear wind deflector so it really cuts out the noise and wind in the cab.

You don't say if you have a roof, but as much air comes in the back as the front. Think about a rear wind deflector too.

Marco! Since I am one of the ones you have met in person, I'm very sorry to hear this but I definitely understand, especially with those beautiful daughters you have (you're going to need the 4WD to hide the teenage boy bodies off road. . . .)

Good Luck with your endeavors, and remember, this is a Info site, not just an owners site. You are welcome at any time.

Has anyone towed their SS on one of these dolly's with a solid roof? I know you have the canvas room mytoy . I have the TD Gull Wing and would be concerned about the air flow going under the roof and then attempting to "lift" the SS or at least force the gull-wings open (thus possibly losing a GW). Thoughts on that?

Well, I actually did a de-mod. After working with slingmods regarding the fit of my jl audio speakers to the ssv pods, I decided to return the speakers. The screw holes did not line up with the pods screw holes and the speakers had a big gap at the top of the pod. I expected the speakers to fit perfectly with the pods. Not so much. So SM sent me a prepaid return label. I spoke to ssv works and they said to buy only the speakers they recommend. So I ended up ordering the kickers from SM. Hope they are a better fit.

I've got the Kickers and I like them. Not gonna win any sound competitions, but they fit and sound good enuf for me.

Best? Professional using plastic primer and urethane paint.

I guess you really mean what would work doing yourself. I've been a fan of Duplicolor but there is still a lot of prepwork - filling, sanding, primer, etc, before you get that top coat. And on the speaker pods next to your feet/legs, bound to get LOTS of abuse, scratches, chips, etc.

I'll tell you that's actually the 1 thing I actually regretted doing on SS#2 - painting the plastic parts. Too many nooks/crannies/angles to paint and didn't hold up over time.

We do have some professionals here ( EjFord ?) who can give you a lot more professional information.

Hmm. I prefer to keep it a little simpler. When we went to Homecoming a couple yrs ago (800 miles 1 way), I just hung my backpack on the roll bar. Took the strap off, crossed them around the roll bar and hooked right back in. No issues. Didn't even get wet when we ran through the rain. Still left room to fill gas.

I do keep an extra set of clothes (shorts and t-shirt) permanently sealed in a bag inside the rear cubby, plus some rain gear, just in case. Truthfully, if it's raining hard enough to need rain gear, I'm not driving anyways. But I have been caught where I was soaked enough to have to change clothes.

Wore long sleeves while driving, even in 80-90 degree temps. And chapstick. Can't say enough about chapstick.

Well, Texas weather. December 2021 has been the Hottest December EVER on record, averaging over 10+ degrees higher than normal. Set 3 records during the month in Austin. It was 83 yesterday.

And then 2022 comes in like a wrecking ball. It's supposed to still be in the high 60s/low 70s on Sat night - and then we drop 50 degrees by 6am Sunday.

Was it easy to get access where you run the cables along the transmission tunnel? You dont have photo of that part?

Yeah, just drop the cables behind the head unit down into the trans tunnel and then head back. I just had my front end of the SS on jack stands and could get under it pretty easily in the garage without a creeper. You'll see the brake line down there on the drivers side and just run along with it and cable ties.

Yeah, this is a Kenwood M3004, Marine grade, 4 channel, 300W, just barely larger than a paperback book. Specifically designed to fit inside Harley saddlebags. Been very happy with it. Bought it for about $160 pre-Covid, but see it's going for about $220 now. They also have a M3001 single channel in case I want to add a sub.

Under both seats, where they mount into the center frame, there is a gap in the plastic. I ran my RCA cables from the back of the head unit along the transmission tunnel ( there's a stainless brake line to cable tie to), up through those holes to the amplifier(s) under the seat. I then ran the speaker wires back through that same hole, then vertically up under the fin to the head rest speakers. Passenger speaker wire came up through that same hole on the passenger side to go to the passenger floor speaker. Bad pic (wires have been redone since this to be much cleaner) but you can see the hole I'm talking about. This is drivers side and pic is turned, but you get the idea.

Just make sure that they are doing the laser alignment. ALL DEALERS ARE STILL NOT DOING THE LASER ALIGNMENT. I have the Polaris laser kit but still have not used it. I bought the whole kit for $300; Polaris charged their dealers about $2,500 for the kit and did not ask them. They just sent the kit to the dealers

    Yep, SPECIFICALLY asked that.
