Thank you to MACAWS Ruptured Duck Dave@DDMWorks for helping me get back on the road. Huge props!
What we think happened is that at some point the driveshaft threw a weight and became unbalanced, causing vibration. That combined with diff bushings that were worn (Bob uses a used G35/350z diff along with the bushings) caused the rear bolt to back out and then shear. Bob sent me a new driveshaft under warranty i picked up some new polyurethane bushings and all should be put back together in the coming weeks.

Here is my story... I started my first business while I was in college and grew that way beyond what I ever thought it could be. Then I hired someone to run it and I started another and another and so on. I build, buy, and invest in companies for a living.

In Michigan we put our summer toys away in the fall and take out the winter toys. We're used to it, plus without snow you can't have snowmobiles.

Putting the sling away for the winter, hopefully the next time I get to drive it will be in Maggie Valley. And hopefully it will have a new motor, clutch, ECU, and a meth injection kit. It may even reach 500 wheel hp, we shall see. It all depends on how far @Dave@DDMWorks can take it. I don't think I want to go to a bigger turbo as I like how fast this one spools. 450whp may be more realistic. Time to turn the mod budget to the Raptor. Have a great winter everyone!

DDM Turbo for me!

I have been losing weight consistantly for the past few years, so I'm already working that angle. I'm thinking wheels and tires would be a good start. The rotars on my sling are absolutely massive at 12.1 inches. So that might be an option, but an expensive one.

Do we have any weight Reduction folks on the forum? I think weight reduction will be my next focus. What have you done?
All I have really done is pull the speakers out.
The new roll bar hoops look like they would be a good option. Any thoughts?

It rained for about 20-30 minutes.

So, I picked up the slingshot, then I drove it 900 miles home. I spent some time in Deals Gap and man, I am just blown away. The @Dave@DDMWorks new turbo kit is pretty amazing. It spools fast and the sounds it makes... Just wow! The welter rear exit exhaust is great too. It really sounds mean. The quad kit hooks like crazy and in the Twisties it's on rails. It stays level in the turns and I didn't have the guts to find it's limits. This machine has exceeded my expectations. Dave nailed the exhaust placement as well. Super happy with this build. I'm gonna need a new clutch.

Flying down to SC in the morning to pick up my SS. Very excited. See you tomorrow @Dave@DDMWorks

Good news and bad news, after speaking with Dave this morning we decided to give it a few more days (after Dave gets back from his upcoming trip) to make sure my build is exactly the way we want it. We have something very cool planned for the exhaust, we want to get the weight balance right and we really want to set this thing up to be what it was built to be and that is fast from red light to red light. Thank you @Dave@DDMWorks for taking care of me. I really do appreciate it.

Wow, thank you @Dave@DDMWorks I am excited to see what your new kit puts down.

IMNHO, the Charohala is a very pretty drive but not very challenging. It is worth the drive for the views. Regardless of which you choose, I’d love to join you on the ride in the mountains. We are only a few miles from the Dragon. Could meet you at the top.

@pricejh61 that would be great, I'll let you know when I'll be up there. Not sure when I'll be able to pick it up, Sunday afternoon or Monday morning. PM your phone number?

@StickerDick fenders mounted all around would look sick!!!!!
Agreed!!!! Painted nuclear sunset orange!!!!

Looks good! Time to chop that exhaust off when you install the different turbo kit.
@TravAZ yes, I'm excited to see that exhaust go. And more excited to see what Dave does with the rear exit exhaust on this. I'm thinking dual center exhaust under the sub frame would be absolutely awesome.
