4 Slings from Avon CO to Laramie WY

Hope you'll keep me in the loop as I will probably be in VA or NC through October - can always extend that!!

You may be right. But it's after 9pm here, and I'm leaving in the morning early. If needed, there are tire stores in every state. On a good point, I have checked fluids, checked for leaks, checked for rear bearing issues, and checked the drive belt. All are in perfect shape, and dry and in adjustment. SS is cleaned, and packed. Will let you all know how it goes, hopefully after I get back home without any problems.
I'm in Vail with Slingshots Across America and need a new rear tire - should have replaced it before I left Virginia. One of the young guys with us works for Discount Tire. He called everywhere around the Denver area - found one store with 2 proper size tires - both BF Goodrich. 118 miles away! Good luck and be safe!

A post from the female side of this ride - right now there are 2 of us!
We had a little delay after fueling up today. Carol (not on the forum) and I were waiting in the hot sun to move on. We were told we could leave if we wanted. So we girls took off, took a more scenic route and arrived at the hotel before the guys! We got into the same construction, but were lucky enough not to be held up long. I know waiting in the heat had to be rough.
Since this is a small group right now, there have been lots of laughs and chances to get to know each other. Grateful that the boys let me play, too. Great bunch.

@Bugeater, California seems to be undecided on their law. I rode without one as have others. That said, some LEOs think it should follow motorcycle law. I'll be entering CA tomorrow so guess I better find out.

Have a safe trip! Rain isn't bad until it pours and the roads get too wet. So far I have gotten wetter stopping to put on the rain gear!
-
What a terrible loss. My prayers for you and your family.

Seahawks!! Packers are backup because Jordy Nelson is from little Kansas town where family lives - plus he's a neat guy. Used to follow the Seattle Mariners, but not so much anymore. I did go to Griffey's induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame last month.

I probably have one of the first trailers produced - a real lemon. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't recommend the onboard compressor and air bags - too much to go wrong no matter when the trailer was made. I had to replace both (which Ultimate Trailer did supply). My latest experience with them was in May when I had to take the trailer to Denver to have the specially designed axle replaced. Seems the original wasn't strong enough (or tested). My latet husband used to say, 'the more bells and whistles, the more things to break.'

You were in Clarksville and didn't tell me!I am hurt.....I live 10 minutes from Southside
My bad! Spent my time getting ready for the trip and sitting in a/c - heat and humidity were preparing me for this part of the trip! Hoping for better temps there when I get back next month.

Be safe! I left Clarksville, VA yesterday heading to CA for SS Across America. We could have almost cross paths!
-
I'll be coming with SS Across America.
-
So sad and we are seeing too many of these lately. Everyone be safe - especially thinking of those headed to California. It'll be California or Bust for me on Thursday.

Crystal and I have been emailing back and forth trying to keep up to date.
I am proud to know her... great lady!Same here!! She is definitely a very sweet gal

Please save at least a taste of that beer for me!
-
Mine rattled because the springs holding it stretched! Dealer had to order new springs and they had to remove the side panel for the replacement.
-
I checked in May - Foremost was almost double my Nationwide premium for just the SS.

Survey completed! Looking forward to this adventure! Thanks, Mitch and helpers!
