I purchased the slingmods one that goes behind the driver's seat. I know Snazzy's video says you can put it under the hood. I don't feel knowledgeable enough doing that, and when I brought it to the Polaris dealer they didn't know how to do that either and didn't want to. So I intend to just put it behind the seat as slingmods shows.

Peg, I used the Slingmod extensions as well but did not have to remove the battery as their video shows, since the only hard one to get to is the ground wire on the right side of the battery. That side has a ground wire that runs down in front of the battery and attaches to a screw on the frame which I used. Unscrew that ground wire first before doing the Red wire and don't let the end of the ground wire touch any metal part while you are doing the Red one. After you have finished with the Red hot wire, You will need to bend the end of the Slingmod ground to make it fit flush, but scratch the paint off around that screw hole for better grounding.

Before drilling holes, take note of how far back the seat goes and either put ur holes just below or just above. Also, separate the holes 3 or more inches, bearing in mind that alligator clips are often large and you don't want them touching should you need a jump start. Make sure the Slingmod ground wire is long enuf to reach the hole. I didn't have any prob; just something to remember while you're doing the fitting.

If anyone see any problem with the above, please chime in. More informed is always better.

I ran a couple 275-40-20's on my previous 16.5 stock wheel with no Nanny probs. To my eye, taller tire looked better, and it certainly gave a better ride.

I'm particular about filters as well and have looked at the ST. It does look well made and probably is more than adequate for the 5000 mile changes we do on the SS. K&N looks good too...just overpriced. On my previous SS i used only AC Delco's made in USA with the name "Hengst" stamped on them and had a reputation of being an excellent filter. Some Delco's come from overseas and I don't know what their quality is so I wouldnt use them. After getting the current SS I bought a WIX and a Bosch; both look well made to me. The WIX went in at the 500mi change but I will be using Bosch's from now on simply because of better price from Rock Auto. For some reason I bought 6, around $5 each, which will be more than I will ever use! I think the Wix is avail from O'Reilly and prob other auto stores for about $8 or so.

Lexani Tires; I used two of the LX-30's on my previous '16 SLR. They were "40's" and I had no nanny issues. Best as I remember they were 275-40-18. Wear was about 8k or so. The taller tire definitely improved ride..it was that noticeable. Can't comment on handling as I'm an easy driver and rarely got caught in much rain. I think they are a very good tire for the money, and will probably use one again when the 305 on current Slr wears out. My only complaint about them, and OEM's, are they pick up small gravel like crazy from my driveway.
