Boxer mix some low life dropped off a month ago, about half starved, obviously badly mistreated. Couldn't get within 50 ft of her. Began feeding her morning and evening but it took two weeks before she decided to trust my wife and I. When it happened, it was instantaneous on her part. Shes a sweet, gentle, loving, girl, under two years old, 63 lbs, who won our hearts. Spayed last Monday, shots, dewormed, etc. Joins our other two dogs and two cats (who are clearly not enthused with her size). Interestingly, her eating went down gradually from about 6-8 cups kibble a day to currently 3--4 top qual kibble/meats/supplements. As she socializes with the others, we expect to bring her in the house before it gets cold. She now has 5 blankets in garage between car and Slingshot.

Noticed today the inside of the hollow rear axle had light rust. Removed the Polaris wheel cap on the left side, then with a long rod pushed a rag coated with linseed oil thru till the inside was thoroughly covered. Linseed oil will dry and prevent further rust. Afterwards I will put a 1" cap from hardware store over that right side hole. I've used linseed oil around the farm to coat and prevent metal from rusting. Many other products will also work.

I'd vote for Mitch Macaw for the tremendous time and effort he has made for several years organizing the B&B Rally.
It takes months and months of planning and incredible amount of work. All for the love of the sport and people.
I expect a lot of his personal $$ go into making these rallies free for all.............. -
Thanks Ross ill post a pic of my 2018 slingshot grand touring le as soon as I figure out how add it to the profile
also would appreciate any links to vid's on how to change the ngle drive oil just hits the 500 m. mark.Ric.... Manual calls for first change of angle drive at umpteen thou miles; many of us do it sooner and more often but would suggest you wait till you get a couple thou or so to let the gears (there are only two) wear in a bit. Motor oil and filter is at 500 mi tho.

I recently ordered a rear tire for the SS, a brand/type that I had used on my previous SS and was satisfied with. The date code on the side is 2218 which means 22nd week of 2018. Often tires can lay around for a year or two, or perhaps more, thus I am pleased this one is fresh. Not sure I will need to install it this year or not but couldn't pass up the sales price. I noticed yesterday at the fabulous B&B Rally that Brewers Cycle in Henderson had this brand tire, Lexani, on their special modified SS.
Edited to add: Noticed that sidewall has M&S label which essentially means all weather.

I don't pay to watch, but glad to read that Khabib cleaned Mr. Arrogant's clock! Watched the earlier pre-lims tho.

Good Grief Hunter....at least you have another "Half Life" to go...................
Seriously, glad you're ok.

Clean motor and they say it only has 3K miles; should manifold be that rusted?

I'm high enough to not worry about flooding. Main concern is potential loss of power.

Stopped by my dealer couple days ago just to say hello and Svc Dept lady said they are waiting for seat belt "clips" to come in and will call me when they get them. Didn't question her about the clips so no idea how they are installed.

Go to Walmart, auto accessories, and get one of these:
50372650
I've used one for several years and it makes a world of diff. After it gets "broken in" it will conform to the contour of the seat. Best $10 you'll ever spend. -
Thanks War Hoop; good to know.

Eye protection, whatever works for you, is definitely smart when driving the low slung Slingshot. The wheels tend to pick up fine debris and some will blow back in your face. Even passing vehicles can do it to you.

With no shielding around the stock CAI on my '18 SLR, I'm wondering if in a hard rain it is going to intake water.
I would suppose Polaris and aftermarket makers have tested this and it is of on concern? -
Very best wishes to you both. Enjoy the Sling and helpful folks on these forums.

Make sure the ear flaps are snug or you will likely get a lot of wind noise. I run a Sena SMH-10 in an open face Bell helmet and it has good hearability communicating with my riding buddy. My helmet has deep ear holes and I found that a pad attached behind the speakers to bring them close to my ears helped. We tried the Sena 20?, I believe it was, which is supposed to be a better unit but found that not the case and sent it back.

Bigdog: On my previous SS with your size tire, I ran 275-40-20. On the other forum, there used to be a rep from Discount Tire that stated this was the largest size that should be used. I wore out one, had a second one on when it was traded. No idea of width, but it was wider and taller and provided a more comfortable ride. Can't remember how much the speedo was off, but not all that significant...to me.

Same deal at Slingmod...wanted to order a Paramount fender which is "discounted" to $489. No further discount.
Seems to me this discount has been running a long time. I paid $400 for the earlier model for previous SS. Oh well. -
If anyone does not have access to electricity, but has a place to put the solar panel where it gets decent sunshine, it will keep your battery topped off. It won't put out enough to charge a battery if its run down, so you need a good battery to start with. I used it for a couple of years to keep my small plane charged, which was in a hanger without electricity. It had a slow drain that I could never find. I had it mounted on the roof so it got a lot of sun. Worked well. The cord is probably 8-10 ft long (could be extended if you want), with bare ends so you'll need to put an accessory plug on which can be used on the outlet between the seats, or whatever type hookup you want. The two wires are white/green (hot/ground), easy to attach a plug. The solar panel is approx 4 X 12 inches. Its got silicon sealant all around it to make it water resistant. Not pretty, but worked.
FREE....if you want to Paypal me the postage after you get it up and running, that would be nice, otherwise no biggie. I haven't used it in several years so not entirely sure its functional. If not, toss it. Email your address if you can use it. (Clem@ptmc.net) Might be a bit till I come across a small box to mail it in.

I'll stick with a standard batt and my Batt Tender Jr. Might think differently if I were running a ton of aftermarket goodies.
