I'm not one to brag, but it's just overwhelmingly obvious that this little thing was designed to destroy in looks. It pretty much crushes any vehicle out on the road today - and I mean ANY vehicle.

Over the last two weekends, I've taken a cruise down to Deep Ellum in downtown Dallas, and the attention is unreal. I get people wanting to take pictures, to people asking if I made the car myself, several thumbs up, girls waving at me, kids pointing, etc.. I've even driven behind major expensive cars like the Lambo and Ferrari and even they wanted to know what the Slingshot was. Some even asked if it was at least under $100k. LOL! I wish I would have lied and told them it was $150k or something but I wouldn't forgive myself.

If you are getting attention, tell us your stories! ;)

People around here in the Dallas area is dumbfounded by the SS. There are hardly any riding around, so when I drive around I'm getting all the attention! :D

I heard that a group of SS meet and cruise in the area. I'd love to know who the contact person is and meet up!

I am constantly having disconnections from my cell phone to my audio system. It happens relentlessly. I'll start the player on my cell phone, and the signal will get picked up. If I try to fast forward or rewind on my ride command, the song will change but the audio will cut out. I have to pause and replay by operating my cell phone in order for it to come back on.

Is anyone experiencing this? I've updated all the software and feel I just have a bad computer (i.e. ride command).

While driving more and more, I'm actually starting to believe that this Sparco steering wheel may indeed be impossible to center with it's grooves. It's just a touch off-center to the left but the alignment seems to be intact. For now, I'm going to keep it as is and not worry about it.

Last night a buddy of mine and I went cruising to the pubs in downtown Dallas (Deep Ellum area) and when we got there, it was bumper to bumper traffic of cars looking at all the people on the street. We got so many people pointing at us and staring. When we made a turn onto a street, we saw a guy in a Ferrari parked along the street and we noticed he was getting attention until we pulled up. LOL! We got the stares and this guy tries to steal it by revving his engine! He got the attention again.. we just cruised on pass but when we stopped at a light, we had a trio of beautiful women looking at the slingshot. Just then, the guy in the Ferrari pulls up and starts wavving at the girls and trying to talk to them.

It was a joyous night. It's incredible that a $35k autocycle can be so impressive in design and uniqueness that not even an expensive Ferrari can take eyes away from it. :D

Grapevine Power sports has the lazar alignment machine for it. If you are taking it to freedom they are idiots. Grapevine isn't much better but they can do the lazar alignment. Cycle town south used to have the alignment machine don't know about now.

That's the impression I'm getting the more and more I go there. Need another competent dealership.

Thanks for the Grapevine referral. I'm going to take it to them on Saturday.

Cycle town no longer supports the SS, sadly.

You're in the Dallas Metro area from the looks of it. There is definitely a 3 wheel alignment.. you'll have to find one close to you. Also, to center the steering wheel, they can center it as well when they do the alignment. I had mine done in Colorado springs by @bigdew.

Where are places that have 3-wheel alignment? Can I get it done at any Firestone/Midas dealer?

So I took her in for the 500 mile service oil change and told the service rep about the steering wheel not being centered yet again. The response I got from the service team was that the Sparco steering wheels that come with the SLR have forks in them that either go slightly to the left of center or slightly right of center. I also asked about getting a real alignment on the SS and they said no one has a 3 wheel alignment machine and they use measurements (whatever that means). BTW, I'm not saying my SS needs wheel alignment because it does NOT drift to either side when you are driving straight. However, the steering wheel is slightly off center when you are driving straight down the road.

    Is this BS or truth?

Plastics fading was discussed by the group yesterday morning at breakfast. No one had ever seen any that had faded so I was surprised when I seen this thread. I have to admit, as soon as I read the title I wondered to myself what is had been exposed to.

Nothing but extreme heat from 100+degree weather down here in TX.

I'll definitely put on Car Guys plastic restore.

After a night of cruising, I was pulling into my street when the SS started to idle roughly and I heard clicking sounds which were definitely either the injectors or the valve lifters. It felt/sounded as if the SS was running on 3 cylinders instead of 4. After limping it to my garage, the behavior stopped and my engine was running smoothly again. How could I check the codes to see if something was trigger? Only got 478 miles on it.

So I just bought my SS in May of this year. I have only 450 miles on it and when I was washing it yesterday, I noticed that the black panels in the back are fading it's color. I put some armor all on them to take away the white fade, but this is not sustainable. Is there any recommended treatment that I can use to keep that "black" look?
