A single axle trailer is all you need to transport the Sling. Also, I leave the trailer attached to the Tahoe & crank the trailer tongue and the rear of the car up with the tongue winch so that no ramps are required to load or offload. I winch the Sling onto the trailer ass first.

I run regular in Florida flats & no ping & 28+ MPG. High test for the mountains.
-
All fixed by dealer. Plugged in the diagnostic & reset the speedo MPG & DTE.
-
For a couple weeks now, my MPG is stuck at 6.2 miles and DTE is stuck on 65 miles. Everything else on the speedo works fine. My dealer hasn't heard of this issue and plans to hook up the computer to it next week. Has anyone had this problem or has any idea what's causing the issue?

BEAVER DAM CABINS : BEAVER DAM ROAD NORTH OF MURPHY, NC, 3,800 FT. RON & PAT VANECK 828-837-0905

I get lost all the time unless Pat is navigating for me. After several attempts to find a compass in auto supply stores, etc, I gave up & bought a FORMATION Products Real compass with compensators --as I have for my Harley. Even with compensators, It is a bitch finding a place to mount a compass that is interference free in the SS. However, I finally found a spot that only requires a tiny bit of adjustment. This is a great instrument that runs $61.90 including shipping. For those owners who are cloudy, or destination- challenged, here are some pics. If you need any help or more details on installation, email me at WAYNENPAT@CENTURYLINK.NET

I'm trying to wire my LEDs and am having trouble finding a convenient 12 v line to tap into. I want them to be on all the time the headlights are on. Can anyone give me some specifics on where to tap into? View attachment 57817

Well, Sam: I did my battery maintenance today, and Glad I Did ! I tried to follow your instructions, but I got one backwards. I thought I was supposed to arc my wrench across both terminals, but when I saw the sparks, I remembered I was supposed to avoid that. Anyhow, I cleaned the corrosion off the + terminal, coated it with dielectric grease, & re-installed both cables. Then when I tried to re-mount the battery, I found the cables were too short.......or possibly I installed them in the incorrect orientation (wishing you were here,Sam)Starting over, I reoriented the cables, & forced the battery back into it's rack and buttoned her back up. One of my most exhilarating maintenance episodes !
Addendum for subsequent battery maintenance: Use a T35 bit for the cover fasteners. Use a 1/2" SAE wrench for the locking block & battery terminals. Call Sam for emergencies & fires. Also, pay attention as to the orientation of the battery cables, so they can be re-installed the same direction.

BTW, my OEM fronts are probably 3/4 tread left. Mis allignment is death to the fronts.

I'm not a super aggressive rider
My rear tire lasted 9K miles. I replaced with Michelin 34K mileage warranty (cut to 17K since on a bike). It was slippery as hell and only lasted for 6K miles. Replaced it yesterday at 15K mileage with a BFG tire with good tread & 4 deep rain grooves For $115. It sticks to the road & should perform well in the rain & at Maggie valley. Dealer Wants $350 installed, for the OEM rear!!!

I waded thru all the discontent on the Slingshot forum & was also pissed that the administration failed to answer user concerns. Then a few days later, found that one was away on a 2 week honeymoon & the other had a serious medical issue in the family. We may have jumped the gun on jumping here-----but here I am. ( I don't relish spending time on more than one forum)

I will have a little over 22,000 miles on the SS by this weekend
Yer gonna wear it out before me. Just turned 15K. BTW, Now I know why U can't make the NY rally: Too many MODS! Need to PACE Yerself

Seems that administrators were away getting married or with family emergencies and were not available for several days to reply to RABTEC's issues on the other site. SAD that timing was wrong & contributed to the switch in forums.

Raining with puddles? When the road is wet, it's time to seek shelter at far reduced speed.
