With so many photos to show, this may come in five different posts in this thread.
Our children got my wife and I a cabin at Fontana Village for our anniversary in December. We decided that we would share our trip with some other friends so we upgraded to a two bedroom and spent March 22nd-24th at the dragon.
It was a great time with friends, great rides and off course great food.

Today was the first day in over two months we were able to get out. Between the dam rain, cold weather and being sick we did get out.
We were able to get some good picks of our new MeanSling Top and I must say we love it. We got asked a lot of questions about it and of course the double take when driving past. Great job Patrick on the top.

My question is what kind of rain gear are people using? I have froggs but I still get wet and they tear pretty easily. What is a good quality thats also breathable that everybody uses?

We live in SC and travel all the time into NC. We have never been stopped and have passed many state and local police. I think it just depends on the officer at the time.
While playing on the dragon in TN, they will pull you over for no helmet. In GA, we have gone down there many times and have had no problems but friends of ours who live down there got one ticket but got it tossed out in court. To this day they still ride with no helmet.
Unfortunately there isn't much storage on these. Otherwise I would keep a brain bucket for warmer weather and full face for the rain/cold weather.

Welcome from Greer, SC and congratulations on your new purchase. On this site you will find questions are ask 100 times and you can get 200 different answers but the wealth of knowledge and friendship here are priceless.
Also you have Maggie Valley coming up in May. We would love to see you.

The horns were the first thing I replaced. I used Honda Goldwing horns. Much better.

Does anyone know if there is E85 readily available there? Trying to figure out if I will need to bring a barrel or if I should just dial it down and go back on 93 octane.
No there is not. A friend of our has a GTR and he uses E-85 but when on the dragon he’ll top off with the 93 octane. There might be E-85 in Robbinsville NC

wait till you see where I put my Meansling bags. Hope to start that project next week. I'm putting them under the tail lights. The piece on the left mounts to the sling and the piece on the right mounts to the bags. Pull the pin and it will release. I need to make something to transition from the bags to the V mount. I got a couple ideas that I hope to try this weekend.
Can’t wait to see this.....

U r so kind. I can see that thing breaking apart at warp speed.
Warp speed? I think as soon as the captain says “Scottie give me all you got!!”

Do we have to register and pay to enter the world record event? We are coming up but not going onto the fairgrounds. If so how do we?
Just want to ride with friends.

My wife and I rescued this little kitten from a six lane highway as she was trying to cross the road. She made it halve way and was in my lane. This was during the hurricane and it was pouring down rain. We estimated her to be about 4 weeks old and she was cold.
So we brought her home and set up another cat litter box in the guest bathroom until she’s old enough to use the cat door.
For now we keep her isolated from the two boy cats we have and are slowly introducing them to one another.
I think we are becoming the old cat peopl with the cool bat mobile as some kids call it.

I have received a number of enquiries, on various Facebook threads, asking where the rear fender came from.
I installed it, to keep the mud from covering the reversing camara a d son additional sensors, that I mounted, on the rear of the SlingShot. It has been installed for well over a year now and is doing the job fine.
It's an aftermarket item, that only cost, a little over $20USD, deliverd. Making it, possibly the best value fender on the market.
I selected the red option and found that it matches the red of my 16.5 SlingShot, very well indeed.
Rear Seat Fairing Cover Cowl For Honda CBR1000RR 2004-2007 Sale - Banggood Mobile
I used the licence plate support bracket to fix the forwardmost end of the fender, to the underside of the SS and screwed the rear end, through the licence plate.
This was only ever intended to protect the sensors & camara and that is just what it does.
I'm very pleased with the results and now that the rear protection plate is in place, with it the rear of the Sling looks so much better, than standard.
How did you mount it?
