Thanks guys, I usually run 28 lbs. in front and 32 in back cold. I will run it and not worry too much about it. I just wanted to see what you all thought. Jim

Hi all! I was out riding the other day and stopped for gas and noticed a screw head in my rear tire. I spit on it and saw no bubbles and I checked the tire pressure and it had 34 lbs. So I drove it home 25 mi. all highway and checked the pressure again it was still 34 lbs. So then I pulled out the screw and it was a short self tightening screw that went in the thickness of the tread. No leaking. The tire only has 1200 mi. on it and looks like new. Should I trust it or should I get a plug or patch for it? What would you guys do? I can't imagine this thing blowing out going down the highway. It is a 2017 SLR with the wider rear tire and I'm sure it probably cost a couple hundred dollars to replace. This could only happen to me. Thanks, Jim

I did take a picture of the sticker. I just wanted to enter in the info. in the manual. They want the key number also in case you lose it and need it replaced.

I know where the number is at on the front but there is more than one number on that sticker. The number on the oil filter is hard to read. I guess I'll go with the 16 digit number on the front of the engine and hope it's right.

Can someone tell me which number is the Engine I.D. # on the white sticker on the front of the engine? There are several numbers on the sticker. I assume it's the 16 digit number in bold print. There is also a 9 digit number and a couple others. Why couldn't Polaris say which one it is? I know it is also stamped on the oil filter base but I can't read that as well. I need this info.for in the front of the owners manual. Jim

I typed in my Vin.# and it says there is no recalls for that #

Flipr, yea she is always going to Kohl's to get her something so now paybacks are a bitch! Right?

I think I'm gonna go to HF and get a 60 pc. SAE and Metrics set and it gets pretty good reviews but like always you get what you pay for. I have to keep the wife happy.

That's a good one! LOL!

Well everyone I'm a happy camper! My brother-in-law came over with his tap & dye kit and it is as good as new or better. I will buy my own tap & dye set whether my wife likes it or not.

Thanks Ghost for the reassurance. Hopefully we can save it. Will keep you posted. Jim

Thanks all for the come back! I am not too worried about the screws as I can just get new ones but the nut threads that they go in to are messed up. I think the nuts are welded on to the frame tube. I still can't believe I did this! Me and my Sling ain't off to a good start I guess.

Thanks Macaws. I hope it won't be too big a deal. My wife thinks it's the end of the world! I told her I'm glad I did some snooping or I wouldn't have known the Pos. and Neg. bolts were not snugged up tight.

Hi all, I've had my 2017 SS two weeks now and put 200 miles on it since. Not bad considering the horrible weather here and the foot of snow we just got. I was bored sitting around so I thought I'd go out in the garage and take off the battery cover and check the battery out and tighten up on the posts and they did need a little snugging up. So now I go to put the cover back on and it was a little tricky getting it back in place. I put the push pins in first and then the two torx screws. The first screw went in fine but the second one I started the same way by hand first several turns then I used my torx driver and it turned a little bit then stopped but was only about half way in so I kept at it and I messed up the reciever threads up and the screw threads a little. Totally my fault! I know better but why did the screw go back in wrong when it looked perfectly lined up? I have them both screwed in but the one is only half way in. I would like to dress up the threads. Does any one know what metric size tap to use? thanks, Jim

Air outlaw, that's the best advice I've heard in a while! I'd love to throw a big party here and have you all come so I can celebrate me getting the SS. I only drove it once since I got it one week a go today cause of the weather here.

Thanks guys, That is how I was going to do it but I had to decide between race ramps at $300.00 a pair which would not have been high enough or a better longer floor jack which I ordered today from Summit Racing. I am looking forward to adding up the miles on this SS. Next thing is to let the better half drive it. Jim

I have watched this video before many times. Sam tends to edit a lot of things out. I guess I can't fit under there like he does. Jim
