I have been saying this since the day I bought my Slingshot. I only ride with a helmet when it is freezing out (for warmth). I have only been pulled over once and it was to discuss the rules and after I pulled out the information stating it was an autocycle, he let me go. Every single time someone asks me if I should be wearing a helmet I respond with no. I get a lot of foul looks from bikers thinking I need one. I simply say I either wear a helmet or a seat belt but not both. I always use the Earnhardt story as my reason for why I don't wear one. Not a lot of people understand the intent of the helmet anymore. It is for bikers who would fly off their motorcycle and hit the pavement. It id designed to reduce brain trauma when falling. Blocking rocks is a byproduct. We would simply jerk back to our seat while our head continued at the same speed forward and then snap. I also completely agree lawmakers should stay out of it and leave it to the riders. When people say "Well you would just be safer with one on" with absolutely no justification, I simply look back and ask them if they wear one driving around in their minivan since in their world it makes things safer.

and it does not detach. Other models do detach. I would recommend a detach model. I thought it did but I was mistaken. I spent too much time reading about each model that I mixed them up.

@SlingLow I keep my Ruger close for that very reason. However, I live
In a great neighborhood so no worries but I always keep it clean and loaded for the crazies.

yep. Just make sure you get the harness for your car (with or without backup camera). I also got the din kit that didnt involve taking the dash apart. It can be stolen but I never park outside my garage. If you look at my screen, the top left touchscreen says dvr....the app lets you edit these so I changed it to "camera" and I can view my front camera at the push of a button. The rear still only comes on when in reverse but there are threads on here to tell you how to get it to come on when you want.

I bought the same hitch to add a tiny 4x4 trailer to to tow crabbing stuff when I head to the coast. It was something cheap enough to try as long as i don't load a crazy amount of weight on it. Hopefully I don't have any issues but don t see much as its being pulled instead of supporting the weight like a cargo carrier.

I will let you keep you know how it goes. I plan on going crabbing next weekend if I ever solve my oil leak but will let you know how it goes. It's only 70 miles with good roads but hopefully it goes well.

No problem at all. It's an Android 10.1" headunit. I only needed the slingmods harness for aftermarket headunits and the double din install kit. I ordered a $10 front camera because the rear camera that comes with it has built in software to flip the image and didn't work as a front camera. I needed one that didnt flip the image. Everything else works fine and it works just like any Android phone. I like the front camera option, ability to forward through songs, have GPS, and ability to download any Android app i want. Here Is a link to the headunit.

Read the reviews. The bad ones are really not bad reviews. I also paid the $15 for 4 year warranty because I wasn't sure how it would perform in the open but have had no issues in the months i have had it.

I did this craziness. Only ran $315 and then used slingmods harness adapter. It's not for everyone but I like stretching the limits.

    I

I saw them probably 2-3 weeks ago. For light weight that looked to be the most affordable option. For versatility and quality, the wicked hitch has my vote. I wish it was less expensive, but then I wish my property taxes were lower too...

This makes me optimistic. The ones I googled quit selling 8 months ago.

I completely agree. The wycked hitch looks very well built and I am glad it boots to the frame. I just can't shell out that kind of dough for a roll behind motorcycle trailer. It may be in my future if my wife ever lets me buy a small teardrop trailer.

ohhhhhh.this is your own custom design? I was hoping for a cheap trailer hitch option to carry light items. Looks good man. I wish I had the skills you guys have on this forum.

How exactly is it attached? I also wanted a wycked hitch but could not justify the 1k for something to carry camping gear a few times a year. I would love to know more about your setup.
