If your 13 Edge has Sync 2 MFT, it ain't that bad. Should be an SD card inside the arm rest. Got the latest map card - A7 for my bride's 13 Fusion Hybrid (awesome car), for under $50 shipped. Whatever. I can't get out of a bar for under $50.
Not much of a difference, but I try to be attentive to my lovely wife. The updates seem to focus more on POI updates than road changes.

If you have the older Sync 1 MFT with CD loaded maps - like my '10 Fusion - (it also updates your nav software), you are pooched. The CD is burned and linked to your car only by Navteq after they get your System serial code. No map updates for you without the $150.

Kind of like the map updates for the Goldwing...You're at the mercy of the manufacturer and NAVTEQ. Which is why I'm looking seriously at a unit with CarPlay.

Opening up an old thread here.

Most small General Aviation aircraft use the heat off the exhaust for cabin heat and windshield defrost. Works well for Cessna, Piper and Beachcraft. I can see this as a workable idea for our Slings.

Like you, this will be our first SSITS. Fortunately, we live on the other side of the mountain from Maggie Valley. I don’t think you can find a bad road in the Smokies.

The secret to enjoying the area is to ride your own ride. Yes, there are several places that vertigo could be an issue, these are the Great Smokey Mountains.

There are some spectacular views from some of the pull outs. Good news, vertigo isn’t a major issue on the Dragon. You are too busy looking for the turns. . I have ridden over it on my Vulcan, Mazda and truck. I love that road, I just don’t race over it. Lost me next door neighbors son on it last year.

Cross Creek RV has an area for parking trailers for those of us staying in the park.

I know I am a little bias (a lot), but this was one that got away from a lucky new owner. The amount of customization and performance modifications in this sling was a steal at 16,000. And yes, we are glad you didn't pursue it.

    It was so, so tempting.
