ok, who is running the background check on Julie? I don't seem to remember a very classy lady named Julie in any of his posts. You guys scour the interwebs on Julie and I'll check the NSFW posts and we'll meet back here to figure out if she is ready for @Tripod

We ran the personnel interview. Very nice, sharp and personable. Has one fault - she actually tolerates @Tripod pretty well. She passed the Nancy test. Approved.

You went to White Sands this morning - remember, I warned you about getting that gypsum in the belt & pulleys & recommended you wash that area off as soon as possible... I have never had a belt squeal on that SS & can guarantee that’s the cause.

    That’s what I am thinking.

Hay all, Nancy and I had a great afternoon and evening with Larry and Julie. Very classy lady. What she sees in him is the mystery question 2018.

We had dinner at La Posta de Messilla. Really good, classic Southwestern Mexican fare. It is one of my favorite eateries.

The Nuc ‘em Sling is now, officially ours. My hat is off to Larry for putting together an outstanding Sling. Neither Nancy nor I can wipe the grins off our faces.

We left Las Cruces this morning and pulled into Alpine, Tx about 6:40 this evening. It was a good ride, just a little windy with blowing dust.

On the way we just had to stop and do a little shopping at the Prada Store in Marfa, TX.

We finally pulled in to our B&B in Alpine.

Thanks all. We stopped coming back from dinner and blew it out with some air. Little better. Will find a hose tomorrow morning and wash it out good.

Spent today riding from Las Cruces, NM to Alpine, Tx. No issues during the trip.

This evening we cranked up the SS to go to dinner and there is a loud squeak squeak coming from the belt. At least I hope it is the belt. Any suggestions?

Hopeful news. We are picking up Tripod’s Sling on Thursday afternoon and will head out of Las Cruces on Friday morning. Will overnight on Alpine,Tx then try to make Kerville Saturday afternoon. No promises, but it looks like we’ll make some of the fun and get to meet a few of you.

If you like Apple, stick with Apple. I just didn't like overpriced stuff with a less flexible architecture that restricts you to working the way Apple wants you to. Having total control over architecture definitely makes it a lot easier to develop your OS.

The need to accommodate a very wide range of hardware not available to the Mac world necessitates a lot of the complexity in the various Windows OSes.Don't know what Android phone you had problems with, but everyone we've had (probably around 10 over the last 10 years for the five of us) has operated w/o problem.
Apple fanatics will always pick Apple, but I think for a lot of people, the camera is the main decision-point among Android phones.

It's all personal preference. I still use a PC for my computer but prefer my iPhone for mobile. It works for me, that is what counts.

Understand your rant. My path was from TRS-DOS to MS-DOS to Windows. Been a fan of open archetchure since the late 70s. However, MS has done an excellent job of making the system big, complex and no more fun to program. Ah, where did all the elegant programmers go?

I did have a Droid phone for a couple of years. Gave up on it because it was so buggy. I wanted a damned phone, not a system I had to program to make a call.

Love my 6s. Looking forward to replacing it with an 8. Leary of wireless everything. My truck isn’t ready for that either.

That’s correct. Jeffs slingshot was stolen, but it was recovered. They took his Sling Tunes system and messed a few other things up and also stole his exhaust tip. I suppose it was a local thug that heard him bumping and thought they needed that system.

    Well, that inhales big time.

here is the thread i posted a while back

    Duel Side pipes

Thanks for posting this. I did a search and found a couple of other threads about dullies. Love the sound of that. Just may have to do that mod.

What muffler did you use? I was thinking a set of pipes off of a Road King or similar. Can usually find them pretty cheap.
