Hay gang! Been off line for a while. We took the sling out for a little ride yesterday. Lenoir City via US 321 thru Maryville to the Foothill Parkway. Headed towards Pigeon Forge then slogged thru the traffic up thru Gatlinberg. Stop and go tourists everywhere! Got up to the Sugarland Visitor Center and turned right onto Fighting Creek Gap Rd. Stoped in Townsend for our first meal at a sit down restraunt in six months.
From Townsend thru Maryville and back to home in Lenoir City. About 120 miles thru the Smokies and about 4 hours, including lunch. Great day. Sorry, no pics. But good memories.

Ok How many of you 3 miles from the house get on to a three lane on ramp to a seven lane each direction freeway?
However I am totally envious as it takes Paula and I about 30 minutes to GET to our ride when you guys leave your driveway and you are ON your ride!
Insurance wise I probably see more cars getting to the on-ramp than you guys will see all day and most of them pretty much want to kill me!

I always hated that intersection. Taking the 15 to the 91 was faster. But, I preferred to drive thru the cow pens to the 91 and put up with the smell.
Use to live in Cucamonga and worked in Cypress. Hated that commute.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the well wishes. Yesterday was probably one of the most difficult and trying days of my life. My test most unfortunately came back positive. I did absolutely everything I could to prevent it while still being required to go to work with threat of demotion if I didnt but it got me. Somebody else posted about having to be at work while their kids were made to stay away and I could only imagine. Well, yesterday I had to send mine away as well. It was absolutely horrible having to send your kids out the door from across the room while they're crying and not be able to make it better or hug them.
But fast forward to today. My oldest two were tested and the results were negative. My father in law who has been helping us up at the new house and already has severe respiratory issues was negative. And 4 of the guys on my crew were tested today all negative. As of right now I still only have loss of taste and smell. So if that's the worse it gets for me and everyone around me stays healthy I'll take it as a win. My kids are situated where it's safe and my nerves have calmed down a bit.
The numbers at my plant continue to skyrocket but I'm out for two weeks. So at this point they can't hold it against me. I tried. Looks like I'll be here with you guys trying to clean the slingshot a few times over and stay sane.
Nancy and I are praying for you to have an easy time with this. Prayers is all we have to offer.

When I get down to one bag I always buy at least 2 more. The only way to grill. I have a back up 2 burner gas stove. I ask everyone if you are going to grill with gas, why don't you just stick the food in the oven.
‘Cause I got an electric oven. 😟

When I took delivery on Nuc’em she had HIDs on all four lights. I added Canadian lights and find that the Canook lights are not as bright. What HID package do I need to go to to make them all match?

FINALLY got around to doing this and what a difference! By no means perfect BUT I can actually see the screen now and even in the sun! It went from "is it on?" to Ya its on. Thanks for the tip on this!
Glad you found some improvement. My solution was a Garmin Zumo. Readable in bright sunlight.
It was so scary reading this thread from the start. Our prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

Hey all,
I am going to touch up a very small paint scratch (down through the clear and base) I did with a sharp tip drill bit near where I installed my hood pin/buttons last year.
Anyone here know of an inexpensive GM/Ford/import Navy blue touch-up that is a good match to the 2018 Polaris Navy paint code?
I have successfully DIY'd these types of touch-up repairs over the years(I am not autobody dude either). Not trying for perfect, just better.
I always clean the area 1st and tape off just the groove scratch part. Just enough base color to hide blend/cover the scratch area (done with nail polish brush style touch-ups). Little, little at a time. Then just a little at a time of clear touch-up. Then very fine wet sand and a buff to finish the job. Usually turns out well (better than before).
Thanks for any input,
Webby

I should also clarify - I do understand the need/desire to get things back to as close to normal as fast as possible, but with my wife's particular type of work dealing cards at a table 3 feet or less across from 6 strangers for hours on end handling their money, touching the same cards and chips - - it just seems to a much higher risk job that most others - - there is no social distancing possible, no face masks would be allowed - security cameras need to be able to see that dealers are not giving undue help to players, and also no rubber gloves - the dexterity needed to deal the cards and cut the chips wouldn't allow for it - - it just isnt something I think they could ever modify to insure my wife's ability to stay safe.
Also to add there are some very nasty / dirty people that dealers have to put up with - dont mean to sound racist, but the Chinese that often come to the casino are notorious for spitting on the floor - sure they get told not to, but from a germ point of view what good does that do. Before this it was just really disgusting - now its downright dangerous
also I am lucky enough working in a financial industry to have a job that is considered essential as such I am working and have not had any cut in pay - - this of course makes it less urgent than it may be for others
Anyway - I get it that this thing needs to get over with as fast as possible - I just want it to happen in a way where at least we can be somewhat confident that it won't come back and slap us in the face.
My wife and I have been planning to retire soon - probably next year and it would really suck to work all of this time so that we could do this only to have one of get sick and die before it happens - - Sorry if I am a selfish bastard but thats just the way I feel
I d - You are not being selfish, anymore than I am for concern for my own life. The casinos, theaters and public gathering venues should be the last venues to reopen. Just my humble opinion.

HeRSling and I both got to ride our Slings some today. Only 30-40 miles but it’s the first time she has been able to ride hers since Feb 23rd. On the 24th she had a double mastectomy and here’s hasn’t been started until today. She had a conference call with her chemo doctor and was told she will NOT need chemo. She will start radiation in a week or so but no chemo. When she hung up she said “Let’s ride.” She rode her’s and I rode mine. Went to our daughters to drop off something and for her to see the grand dog.
BTW, love the Duracell Group 34 AGM I put in hers over a year ago. Sat for two months without a charger and started right up.

Anybody have a MadStad windshield with a bullet speed or twist dynamics top?
I have a Madstsd 9” and a Twist GullWing. I can wear a baseball cap and motor down the highway at speed with out loosing the cap. Just enough air coming under the screen to eliminate the low pressure area in the cockpit.

The car shed didn't disappoint yesterday. This has been one of the most aggravating projects I have done lately. The slab poured for it was poured up against an existing slab. That slab happened to have a 4" drop from the back to the front and it was not exactly linear. I had the contractor pouring the slab to put in a "rat seal" around the edges except the side against the existing slab. The idea for matching the existing slab is so that if anything ever were to happen to the original building and new building it will be easy to build a big building covering both the new and old slab. Any way I ordered the building kit to fit a 12X24 slab not realizing that the rat seal would be coming out of that measurement. It wasn't until I put up the corner posts and attempted to install the trusses that I realized my mistake. Yep the trusses were too long. I took them back to the mfg to have them adjusted to the correct length. Two weeks later I picked them up and the next day attempted to install them again. Guess what, they still didn't fit. This time I take them to my shop and my son and I modified them ourselves and now they fit. The next Saturday we completed the framing. Friday I picked up the metal for the top and sides. Let it be noted that once the frame was complete I took careful measurements of the height at the front corners and back corners so the metal could be cut to order with the 1 in 12 angle and also considering the 4" drop from back to front in the slab. Needles to say the metal was not cut properly and every single piece on the South side had to be cut. The most aggravating part was that they did not cut the tops of the pieces on the 1 in 12 angle. Now we will have to install a trim piece to cover up the rough edges at the top of the walls. It took until dark yesterday evening but we got the top, South wall, North wall done but chose not to do the East wall due to not having the garage door(West wall). We are expecting severe weather here today and tonight. Our severe weather here usually comes from the West South West and this building is facing West. Needless to say, if it gets blown away today/tonight I will hire someone to replace it. I am about done with the car shed! And no rabtech and I didn't get to go riding yesterday:(
P.S. I never claimed to be a carpenter!!

Before I retired, 4 years ago, I could buy N95 masks for $98/100. Used them for abatement work.

Took the sling to my favorite liquor store yesterday. First time I’ve ever walked into a liquor store with a face mask and not had a gun pulled on me.
I've heard that the major liquor distributor for Maine is flat out. they can't move the trucks to the stores fast enough. at least someone is making money in this mess.
