Has any one seen this yet? Had trouble inserting extension. Now what for Polaris and the rest of us?
-
Supper Sick. Do you have exhaust flow to both? Be nice to see your exhaust routing.

I looked up the motor from Harbor Freight. Should do fine.
To replace electric motors look at these 5 things
Operating voltage, Amps, RPM, Single or 3 phase, frame type. -

Found Easter eggs...

OK, I was told an Easter egg was a picture of a slingshot.. On a slingshot forum. What are the chances? Enlighten me please.

Some of us do it as we can afford it. My next move is to replace the rear anti-sway bar after I get the front shocks.
-
Put the new DDMW rear only shock in last night. The main difference is the stock shock is over sprung and under damped. Hence the "pogo stick effect" Try and push down the rear or your SS with stock C.O. Good luck, couldn't get mine to budge. With the new DDM I can get 2+" of travel without too much effort. Installation was a breeze. I recommend you remove the rear wall of the SS to gain access to the upper mount. To hold in the upper tubie thingies during install, I put a dab of Polident on each one. Did not adjust either of the damping regulators yet. factory setting which I presume are 50/50. Only did a trip around the neighborhood visiting a few of the 2" deep manhole covers that the DOT put in the middle for us SS drivers enjoyment. Much better period. Normal road surface travel is smooth. The rear wheel traction is better at launch so I figure I'll save on rear rubber. I'll play with the damping later on to see the effects. So far, Yup, worth the $400.

I understand the sound quality from a cell phone leaves a bit to be desired but I did notice #3 intake valve pushrod needs adjusting. This can be done at the hydraulic lifter. RHS Johnson Rod is not the same exact length as the LHS and your phlurbyous spring is too tight. Just saying. Other than that NIIICE.

Welcome to the Darker side. I like your idea of "a little bit of mods". You should get along great here.
-
Ya, I had that problem too when I lived in the Great White North. Would go out and come back at usually after midnight and all liquored up.
-
What exhaust are you saving for?
-
I run my tire pressures before going out and with a GOOD dial tire pressure gauge, 26psi in the front running Sumitomo's 205/50 and 28psi in the rear 265/35. Handling with the different tires was a step up, not a jump. It's just mostly the rear end hop and ruff ride I'm trying to mellow out. The new shock will be here next week, I'll take pic's and let y'all know how it goes. As I stated I would like to have gotten the GT's but $$$$ as well as wondering just how much difference just the rear shock makes.

Just got off the phone with DDM. $400 for the rear shock.
-
Yes. bout what I expected. Will order the rear today if I can get through. Dave is busy working his magic in the shop.
-
Just to let you know Dave did get back with me. Been checking WRONG e-mail. I'll blame it on old age. Figured on taking the SS to the beach this weekend...
-
My Bad. I got the two names reversed. It was Neo that recommended " Avoid like the plague" My apologies. I have not heard back from DDM as of yet.
-
K. I pinged DDM and asked how much for the rear now and then the fronts in a month or three if (when) I want to get the front pair. In the mean time I found an option for the interior that fits and actually installs it self.

neosolidus... funinthesun recommended I stay away from Demon Speed Shop. That is the only place where I could find purchasing the rear only. Every one else sells them as Sets of three. Since the GT's seem to get the most thumbs up here (and we know every one contributing to this thread are SS experts) I came to the decision on the GT's. I like the price and options of the DDM's but no one seems to have any experience with them. Thanks Dave. Now I'm all f-'d up. How did y'all make your choice on shocks? It would be nice to have the bucks to spend a grand then go ... f-it, think I'll go to the other brand.
