    Unfortunately neither of these threads provided the answer we ( JoeF. or I ) are looking for. What we would like to do is to activate the factory reverse camera at any time we like while traveling down the road. I would be happy with a momentary switch that activated it for as long as you held the switch or that activated the view for a predetermined and adjustable amount of time. Others might want a rocker style switch that would keep it on until turned off.


    It would seem that this should be an easy mod. The system has to be activated by one of the wires going to the two connectors on the transmission. Keep in mind that normally anytime that the reverse camera is on the reverse lights are also on. I would not want to cause the reverse lights to be activated going down the highway as the local state troopers would have a field day with that and the fact that it could be dangerous to other drivers.


    If time permits I will look into it in the near future. It would really help if I had access to the electrical schematic for a 2018 model SLR LE!


    NOTE* I did see at the bottom of one of the threads that slingmods was working on a kit but I'm not sure said kit will do what I am suggesting.

    Judging from previous conversations that I've had I don't believe that will be an issue but as they say I have been wrong before.


    I do believe it would matter how the event was set up. As has been mentioned many times already these things can be very complex and you are definitely right about using anyone's name "without approval". It is definitely not one of those situations where it's better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. LOL

    On a more serious note, while we all want to keep it light and keep it fun this is a good example of how complicated it can be to organize and host an event. Everything that is done in association with the event really has to be thought out and looked at from all angles, especially when it is a "National" event associated with a manufacture and you'd like to have the support of said manufacture at the event.


    I do hope to see this event come to fruition and you can bet I will do my best to be there when it does!

    It's almost impossible to find an open date that everyone is happy with.

    Not a problem @rabtech you know the month it has to be in and you know not everyone is going to be happy with it. Create you a "private" fb page then invite those who have voiced interest in helping to join that page. Open up the discussion for the exact date and also the official name of the event. Put a dead line on suggestions and discussions then bring it to a vote. Then contact Polaris and see what they think. They might just surprise you. It would almost be a good thing for the first event to be a little short notice. It would give you a chance to get your feet wet while somewhat limiting the numbers at the first event. If they say it's a no go for this year then go right into planning for next year.


    P.S. Your "core" group will automatically emerge out of the original planning group. Just remember to always have an odd number and obstaining from voting on an issue is not allowed. That way you can never have a hung jury when having to deal with the difficult decisions that WILL come up.
