I feel your pain! I hate it when you spend good money for a product and trust the manufacture to stand behind it and then when you have an issue it seems your getting the runaround. Some folks have put tens of thousands of miles on theirs without so much as a hiccup while others have had many issues. I am thankful that the issues that I have had (that were not caused by me) have been few and small. I'd be glad to help you in any way I can, just let me know.

The only thing missing is my slingshot - the road leading up to this place is a 12 degree gravel hell hill. But I love it anyway.

However you must have by far the best collection of beautiful place photos I have ever seen. I never miss one of your posts.

    Ride safe

I have no immediate desire or intentions to make my sling a quad but if I did I'd mount up a set of mud grips and drive up in your yard at the cabin! LOL

I'm sure the techs at the dealership have already looked and even if they haven't they probably wouldn't let Tim look but it could be a case of the pins in the connector getting pushed back instead of actually plugging together. It'll be touching enough to work for a while but a good bump or maybe just the vibration and it slips back a little and there goes the connection. When I bought mine and took it home it didn't have a fuel gage. I don't mean that it didn't register how much fuel was in the tank, the gage did not display at all. My son and I took the back off of it and inspected the wires and connectors. One of the pins in the connector going to the float assembly was pushed back and not able to make contact with the matching pin once plugged up. We reseated the pin and haven't had any more issues with the fuel gage not showing up. What we have had is the DTE reading going nuts. We let the fuel tank get real low once last year and all of a sudden it said 0 miles to empty. We stopped and filled it up and then it displaysed 7 miles to empty. I thought after driving a few miles it would correct it's self but it didn't. Each time we'd fill the tank it would slighty increase the DTE reading. I believe it's up to 160 miles to empty now when we fill up. I guess when we have the back off for the upcoming maintenance we'll take another look at the pins in that plug.

I inquired today as to what parts were on back order. Part on back order is the cam sensors. Even though the cam sensors were put on already from a donor 2019 and already proven not to be the issue. This is where I will really find out what type of company Polaris is. I have found two other instances where this has happened. Ruptured Duck and MWSlingshot both had this problem. Both had to have a wiring harness. Two weeks down and I am in exactly the same spot I was in when it started. I hope nobody ever has this problem. I will post weekly and hope nobody else had this problem. I will definitely post final result regardless of the outcome, good or bad.

Sorry you are having to go through this and I hope you get it straightened out soon. It sux that it has to be in the peak of ridding season! On the other hand it's not going to give trouble setting in winter storage. Your willingness to keep everyone updated on the issue is definitely a good thing. Hopefully no one will need the info but you and I both know that if yours is the 3rd one then over time there will be others. If the same thing happened to mine I'd have to be looking for a salvaged unit to get a harness from since I voided my factory warranty at 890 miles.

Ghost , are you gonna get Bill Martin to go help, supervise, hand out Root Beer and Burbon? You know he is the top rated supervisor on this forum. Sounds like a pretty long wrench day to me. Enjoy and be safe doing it, hope you got plenty of fans.

Most of it will likely take place in the evenings after work so the heat won't be as bad.

I'd love to hve Bill come supervise and hand out Root Beer and Burbon but this is going to take a few days and I can't afford that much Root Beer let alone that much Burbon! LOL

Never had one of those fancy gadgets but used that ol'e home remedy many times. It works like a charm, just make sure your neighbor isn't home to see you cutting that perfect size dowel off their prize shrub bush and you'll be fine!

You can't make a statement like that and leave us all guessing. So spill the beans bro

I'm sorry! No secrets here, back in March Dave@DDMWorks came down to @rabtech's place and we put a new motor together for our sling. Since I've been nursing an issue with 3rd gear synchronizer for months I didn't want to install the new motor until we acquired a new transmission to go with it. Kyle D knew I was looking and suggested Bob @ Bullet Speed may be able to help. I contacted him and he had a trans but with the covid crap going on it took forever to get it shipped. They both( the motor and trans) have been sitting in the floor at the shop waiting on an opportunity to be installed. With the weather forecast for next week looking like rain almost every day we may go ahead and start the task.

The motor isn't supposed to be a HP upgrade as much as it's supposed to be a durability upgrade. It's the sandcast block vs the foam cast block that's in there now. Since I have a tendency to push my equipment a little harder than most it will give me comfort to know I can push it without being overly concerned about breaking it. If I should break it I'll have the old motor and transmission setting it the floor ready to drop back in and continue ridding while we determine what weak link I have found with the "better" combination.

The "other maintenance" is mostly just going over everything to see that it's still as it should be and to look for opportunities to improve. One of those things is the rear view cameras. I have planned for over a year to do away with the hideous factory mirrors and replace them with a couple small mirrors mounted directly to the spot where the factory ones are mounted. Then we are going to mount two cameras on the rear where the factory reflectors are mounted that will be displayed continously on a monitor mounted above the ride command monitor. We will finally be able to see what's behind us! I have one other small project in mind if time permits that has to do with reducing the low pressure area in the cockpit that causes all the dust and dirt to get sucked in. It would also help those people who have heat issues in the cockpit but we'll see how that goes and do a little write up on it at another time.

I appreciate the invite but I already have the racing clutch and while I'm changing the throwout bearing I'm going to change motors and transmissions, and do some other maintenance while I have it torn apart.

Since our Slings have the same drive train as the Solstice I looked up a throw out bearing for an 07 solstice. There were two listed so I'm assuming one for the N/A sol and one for the turbo sol. Does anyone know for sure which one our sling takes? Common sense would indicate that since our slings are N/A they would use the one for the N/A sol but sometimes common sense and slings don't go together.

Saw this guy on the strip today went by to say hello could not have been more unfriendly🙁 he definitely missed the memo...

Hopefully 1 of two things happen if he was an owner and not a renter. #1 The light comes on and he realizes the community standards and steps up to the plate or,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,#2 He gets rid of it SOON!

I'm corn fused. Did you go quad?
