I had three different gps HUD speed displays from Amazon that collectively lasted three months. Was running base model 18" rear, 17" fronts with all season tires for cold weather and 20/19 high performance summer tires and didn't want to pay $50 dollars or more to get the ECU reprogramed seasonally. I found a nice gps speedo with 52mm pod from Speedhut and mounted it just to the left of the driver side painted dash cover. Now running 19" all around and appreciate the accuracy. Had it a couple of years so don't remember how much it cost but as a SS mod it ranks fairly low $ wise. (To clarify, The Rock mounted it for me.)

    From our patient:

Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts. Greg had a follow up check up last week and immediately got sent by ambulance back to the hospital. They did a procedure which neither of us can describe intelligently in which they stop the heart for five seconds, then restart it and see what works and what doesn't. They actually disabled a small part in his heart and sent him home. He is now feeling 120% better (his words) and when I spoke to him around 0700 his wife was giving him a haircut. Guess he wants to look pretty when I see him tomorrow. Again, your kind thoughts have really lifted his spirits. Now I just have to get him back in slingin condition.

My first, and best sounding aftermarket exhaust back around 2/15 was by Full Blown. It now resides in DocG's Sling since I went to the Alpha side exit which came from WraithSS. Musical mufflers, not chairs. Good thing I already had DDM S/C when those great looking headers came out or they might be on DocG's sling also.

After visiting with DocG-Greg, I wanted to let all his friends know what is going on with him. Early AM on Sunday the 4th he suffered a massive heart attack at home. His wife Michelle bought him back to life but his heart stopped again as he arrived at the hospital. He was revived there and was in the ICU at Mary Washington in Fredericksburg for two days before being transferred to another hospital in Arlington, VA. Glad to report he is now home and has 90 days of non work status. He had to be intubated in the ambulance when they came to his house so his throat is still sore and he is a little hoarse. The good news is that his throat discomfort is helping him to stay off cigs for good (I hope). I have enjoyed many a cheeseburger at his house but they too will be off the menu for a while as Michelle is doing a good job of being the diet Nazi. I have been drafted to keep his sling and Goldwing trike limber until he can be back in the saddle and help chauffeur him when needed to spell his angel wife. He has asked me to be a contact for him temporarily while his strength comes back. Sucks because he was scheduled for back surgery to fix old issues and that is now off indefinitely.

Whether you are a fellow veteran, he was one of those crazy submariners, keep Greg in your thoughts as he gets back into riding form. A great guy whose default response when I or anybody else needed a favor was always 'Absolutely'.

Funny you should mention a crew ride. I just got back from a two hour blast through the foothills around home while getting weather warnings on the Garmin. Next Saturday (I know, a holiday weekend) the weather looks pretty sweet. I hereby call a swarm with a meetup in Front Royal, either at Spelunkers or McAlisters. Open to any and all suggestions but not to excuses. Didn't get any riding from November through March like I normally would on decent days since the SS was apart for painting and special surprise mod(s).

    Edward,

It well still be slower than the old plug, but let it run at idle for five minutes and it takes about ten minutes to drain. I do jack up the drivers side to facilitate draining fully, or close to it.

This month marks four years since I purchased my sling. After recall notices, warranty purchase, and all other communications you would think Polaris should have your address correct in their system. Another nice thing about living in a rural area the mail carrier is your friend so I got my Club info with no delay despite a street number that doesn't exist on my road.
When I called the number on the wallet card to correct the street number I was told by a very nice lady that I would have to go through my dealer to make the change since they couldn't prove who I was over the phone. I was very nice in return and told her that having gotten numerous mailings over the years with the right address it should be easy to see the mistake and make the correction. "Sorry, but I can't access that information."
Ah, post production quality control. Reminds me of the old saying about industrial workers in the Soviet Union-"we pretend to work and they pretend to pay us."

Switched to National General through a new (for me) local agency after almost 30 years with State Farm. Never had any issues with former but saved almost $100 yearly on the Sling (plus another 100 on the home and auto through Erie). It pays to shop although recent studies show that at least 75% of us don't and just avoid change.
I pay $379 annually for 100k/300k $250 deductible full coverage
