Hey, my MT is coming off my sling... just not a good fit for the colder weather up here. Got a Nitto G2 to replace it... came in today.

Narrowing it down even more... I was able to get it to cut out on my just by setting it to the highest volume... think 11. So now trying the 3 levels that are in the 10 range. Appears to not be the auto volume but the volume itself.

I have not experienced this yet, or just did not realize it. I will watch for it from now on.
On a different note. At MV I made a strong suggestion that Polaris look into tire pressure monitoring for the SS with Ride Command. Joey the rep seemed very interested. I told her it woudl be a Win Win since all of us want it and it was fairly simple for polaris to do since it already does it for other machines.
It would be awesome if they did that. Would be VERY inexpensive for them to pull it off as they wouldn't have to change a god damn thing about their packaging as it already says it doe it!

For as much as I paid, I'm a little pissy about my issue. For so far, I tracked it down to the auto volume within Ride Command. If I have it enable, the amp just cuts off and it won't reset until I restart. If I disable the auto volume, problem goes away.
-
Interesting... I have identified either a bug in Ride Command (or maybe it's just my unit). Has anyone had an issue where the amplifier cuts out on you? In other words, on the interface, the music is still playing and shows that it's counting up the length of play, but the amp just stops playing the music and you have to actually cut the power to it (turn the sling off and back on) to get it to work again? This is NOT an issue with any harness. MAY be an issue with backwards compatibility with older years but I'm looking into a fix. I have however narrowed down on what is causing it as it's one of the options within ride command. VERY interesting. Would like to hear from anyone that has had this happen... anyone?

Trying to get some orders finished up. I will post a video how to extend the Ride Command wires very easily. put your amp under the passenger seat or in the tail. Have a shorty if you want to keep it in the dash too.

something like this could help you
LC6i - AudioControlInteresting. Thanks! I actually went with a much simpler way. I'm working on a youtube video later this next week that will show how easy it is to put the plug-and-play adapters into the sling. Figured a video is better than a piece of paper directions.

Awesome week! Met some really good peeps! Great friendships and looking forward to next time.

Hey all. Finally made it to Johnathan Creak. Anything going on tonight? Trying to dry everything out right now, but wasn't sure if there was anything going on tonight. Have to catch up on the boards...

If you look up a page or two, I have a list of a whole bunch of people who said that if it's raining, they'll drive their trucks and they have extra seats.
LOL... yes, thank you. It was meant more so as a we'll need to figure out who out of that list can fit us / put up with us!
-
Hey, not sure if folks are driving their slings down on Wednesday. Maybe need to rent something if it's going to be raining all day. Thoughts?

@mytoy, Any opinion on "Philadelphia Cycle Center"? Not far from you. Wasn't sure if you had used them. They are down as having the True Track alignment system....
-
@angie@WP, you all going to have this fix down at Maggie? I like exhaust fumes personally... the smell of gas and crap burning... but I'd still pick up the fix if you have them!
-
LOL.. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"... Yup, that was my thought, but just didn't know if it *was broke and would cause an issue. Mechanically, I didn't see that happening, but you never know what the community has learned to be true that defies common sense LOL.

This is why they need the belt to the left. Watch what happens to the belt location when you start pulling harder....
I've actually seen that video before. It peeked my curiosity and I actually went out and plopped a go-pro onto my license plate and had it monitor the travel if any. To my knowledge, the belt isn't supposed to travel like that. In my case, it doesn't move and stays right in the center. I worry that touching it may end up opening a can of worms.
My belt however was WAY off. According to manual, it's supposed to be 0.4. If mine was more than 0.25, that would be an accomplishment. I loosened it to say 0.8 ish'. Clicking immediately stopped. Hopefully didn't do any permanent damage.
QA1 shocks were way off too. Front end was actually lower than 6" and that was with an extra 1/2 due to the larger tires. The back was probably over 7 inches. I worry that the two front QA1's are adjusted different, but the measurement from bolt to bolt are both the same, so not sure if there is a problem with the shock itself. Still doesn't drive as well as it should though, so alignment is the next step.
@Goats_Hogs... I hear you and understand your post. If you know the belt wasn't moving though, would you touch it? I do value the communities opinion, so just want to be sure.

As this is about the rear noise, I'll post this too... Now owners manual says that the belt should be on the left side of the fly wheel, but mine is right smack in the center, if not a bit farther right. Thing is, I don't believe the belt is moving and I don't believe I'm getting belt noise from it. Not sure the 1/16 of an inch (if that) is worth all the work moving the belt over to the left.

Leave it at 6.75 is my thoughts. You have raised the height by 1/2 inch, but all the suspension and working components are still functioning the same. If you lower it, that will reduce the amount of travel, and actually not be the way it was intended to work from the factory. The QA1's should have been factory height set when you got them. I know my front shocks were 1/4 inch shorter for one of them, and over 1/2 inch shorter for the other one, than the QA1's were. I think my stock ones were getting weak and failing.
The extra 1/2 inch shouldn't make a difference, but also want the thing to have a low center of gravity. Watching everyone talk about rollovers especially in rain now has me wigged out. Did I mention I'm a bit neurotic?
I'll report back what I found... I adjusted the QA1 shocks, but man, there is something funky about it. Want to take it out and measure again. I don't believe the QA1's were anywhere close to factory eight, but have to see. I measured at the jack points and the front was WAY lower than the rear. The other thing that I'm finding as odd is that after I got it to the correct measurement, I noticed that one shock adjustment was noticeably way different than the other. I measured the center to center of the top and bottom bolts and say both of them were about the same measurements, but noticed that one had the spring much higher than the other. Maybe I'm just going insane... OK, that's a given... but just odd. I'll be looking into it again tomorrow.
