I am thinking about putting a cooler rack on the back of my slingshot. I know rivco has the racks but what is the best place to find hitch assembly without breaking the bank. I looked at AlphaSports but am not sure if they are still available.

    thanks jasper

Well i got the routes imported but they arent working right. When i get off of route and it starts recalculating it tries to take me back to the beginning of the route. Any ideas???

Ok,, let me see if I can explain this very well. You go to google maps and make your route and then click on the details button below the step by step directions you entered. This will open up another window. Click on the little symbol that looks like a sideways V. This will open a window that lets you copy a link. The link is actually the route that you just made. You then open up a link called GPXVisualizer. GPS Visualizer: Convert GPS files to plain text or GPX

Take the google link that you copied and enter in this spot on the GPX visualizer page. "Or provide the URL of a file on the Web",, click on the GPX button in the middle of the visualizer page. Then click convert. This will make the link you copied in google to a .gpx file. Save this .gpx file somewhere were you can retrieve it. Know you need to open another webpage called converter

Click on choose a file and go to the .gpx link you save. When you find it click on it and it will appear under the choose a file box. Then you click on convert. Save this file and load it onto a thumb drive and take it to the slingshot and plug it into the USB port in the glove box. Turn on your slingshot and wait till the Ride Command loads up. Go to the GPS and click on saved. This will open up a place that lets you import or export files. Click the file that you just saved to the thumb drive and click import. If everything works right it will show Import complete and your new route will show up under the saved menu on the GPS.

I have tried it a couple times and it seems to work. I haven't had a chance to actually try the routes while driving but they do look like they are showing up correctly. Google will only allow you to use up to 10 waypoints so what I did was pick spots that were aways away from each other and drag the route between them the way I wanted them. This seems to embed them into the map.

You may be able to use mapquest or TYRE also I haven't tried,, I think as long as you can get a .gpx file to use on the indian site you should be alright.

    Hope this makes sense

I think finally figured out how to make a route on the computer and download it to the Ride Command. If any one is interested I will try to post some info on it.

OK,, i checked the format and it has a FAT,, i changed it to a FAT32 and it did the same thing. even tried another thumb drive. i wonder i i d a software up date if it would d any good.

    thanks jasper

When I try ti import a .gpx file that i download to a thumb drive it gives me an import error. I tried to export a location to the thumb drive and it worked and i tried to import the same file back to the ride command and it took it. I am not sure what is going on.

What is the best place to set up routes and download them to the Ride Command?? I have Tyre but never was crazy about it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks jasper

I honestly dont know if it it is plug in play,, I know it has all of the parts that the seller said was needed to install it, It is a nice looking unit but it is over my head to install it. I called Audio Express and asked if the could install it and they said they could but i bought the new slingshot before I had it installed. I can give you the address of the tech support of the people that sold it to me if you want it.

    thanks jasper

That will be great,, i traded in my Goldwing last year for a 16 slingshot and really liked it,, so i went and traded in the 16 for a new one. I am interested in talking to everyone. I have been to Kerrville Texas twice on my old wing so I know how nice the rides are.. I was there last year the same time yall were,, i saw a group of slingshots while i was at the Stonehinge replica last year.

I bought this setup before I traded in my old Slingshot and never installed it. If any one wants it I will take $250.00 for it. It has the prewired wiring harnass with it that has to be connected to the unit. This and the camera cable alone cost an extra $100. If any one is interested I will bring it to Texas next month.

    thanks jasper
