@gooseman I saw a previous post about this and thought about it but I have a can of tire gunk instead of an air pump. Tonight we are loading up so we will see how much stuff gets left in the garage. I have the tire plug kit and I am debating about wrenches versus sockets. One thing I do know is if I leave something behind I will need it. Are metric tools readily available in the US?

Thanks for the info . I am not big on photos @Ross but we are leaving Calgary going to Cold Lake to convince @Canoehead that his next wife would let him go alone on a trip with us. Then heading to Whistler British Columbia for Canada Day. Then work our way down the West Coast (Hwy 101) to Sacramento to Reno to Salt Lake to SSITR's then back home. Now that being said Murphy's Law, being self employed and the weather could change all of that. @Bigdog I will be sure to remember the torx. So if I understand you right @EjFord that I will leave my metric socket for the oil filter at home, it will free up so much more room for my extra lighter or Mars bar. @SlingLow we were considering going your way to visit an old employee who lives in Gladstone but we will see what the next week brings us. You did say my most favourite 4 letter word "ribs" which is close to my other favourite 4 letter words "free", "beer", "girls", "speed","coffee" and of course "Pamela Anderson".
We will be on a radar route if we see rain on the radar we will go around it if possible and find new and exciting places that we have never been. If we can't go around it we go through it. Who know's we might end up in Texas by default @jorgebri60. Our only objective is SSITR'S on the 11th or 12th or 13th or 14th or 15th. All I know for sure is that I have to be back at work on the 23rd or 24th or 25th or 26th.... It is so tough having such an inflexible itinerary :)

As I embark on my 6-7 thousand mile 25 day ride in the next few days. I realize that I will need an oil change and it will have to be done by someone other than a dealer. Should I bring my oil filter socket or will all quick oil change locations have the metric 34mm? socket ?(I am at work so I don't know the size exactly) I am bringing a set of wrenches, set of sockets, flat head screw driver, Phillips screw driver, tire plug kit,can of instant inflate, side cutters, buck knife, wallet and Good Sams Roadside assistance card.

After 3 years of babying my SS hood I took it to the dealer for a recall and decided to let them change the oil. Now my hood has a small crack in it. I know if I bring it in they will say they didn't do it. I have taken the time to balance up everything so the hood opens smoothly and it just takes one rookie to fuck it up when they just pull and pull.
That is what pisses me off and gas at a $1.35 a litre or $4.05US a US gallon when I get 3 miles to the gallon in my motor home.

First of all I thought Auf was trolling when I saw this thread :/ .
Had 2 too many close calls (on the lake guiding fishing) but the 3rd time was an indirect which tossed my ass about 10 feet. Wife saw the hit and couldn't believe how my 240 lb. frame got tossed like a hanky. Pretty freaky went and saw the Dr. and he figured it hit my head and exited my heel. I'm like no shit is that why my teeth are killing me and it feels like I jumped out of the box of my truck barefoot? Now I'm a chicken shit and hide in the basement when at home during one of our always frikken wild storms. Tornado 3 days ago.

Lucky it hit you in the head.

It looks like we will be making our way down the Pacific Northwest Coast from Vancouver on our way to SSITR next month and just wondering if there is anything that is a must for a tourist or a SS driver to see or do. I think Hwy 101 is going to be our choice hwy and we will be doing about 6 hours of driving per day weather permitting some sight seeing and lots of eating. Thinking Aberdeen first night, then Long Beach, then Coos Bay and last night Eureka before heading east but open to suggestions.

Also if you know a good Shaman that can do a sun dance for us in the area of the Northwest Coast let me know. :D:D

Stairgod, which company are you dealing with? Good to know who in Canada we can work with and who is disappointing you.

    Hi Mike,
Before I badmouth this Canadian company on the forum by name I would like to see the product and install it.(Sometime before Christmas) Needless to say if you order shocks and they say that they have to build them be aware that it may be some time to see them. However , I think you can read between the lines.

On another note we are coming to Victoria for "High Tea" and doing a boot to Ucluelet Sound. Are you available to take a drive up Hwy 14 during 3rd week of June or 2nd week of July? We could meet when we are coming or going. Think of staying Ucluelet during the week to avoid weekenders and June(if possible) to avoid summer holidays.

@Canoehead you must know something I don't. Still no F#*@>>ing shocks yet today. The lying Quebecois B@#*^^ds. Maybe another 4 month wait. But that could be metric time. When they say 6-8 weeks do you double it and subtract 16, or is it add 16 and then double it. They need to hire a communications person as they have all the tools but don't know how to use them. Right now I am no very pleased. I hope the product is better than the customer service.

If I run out of bolts I will use zip ties or gorilla tape on the passengers side, no worries.

What ever happened to Attorney client confidentiality @Bill Martin. :D There is a difference between a sled and a Sling. We were talking about going to The National Park this summer but should we get legal advise first? Heading to the coast in a few weeks then work for a few weeks and then go south and maybe work our way to Colorado as I have a ice cold beer for you. I will keep it in my cupholder the entire trip.

Have to do some juggling on schedules.

Saw no one with SS in Edmonton or on my 1500 kilometre ride this weekend. I did see one slow black one in a protected garage but his mother wouldn't let him come out and play.

Where are all you guys in Edmonton, I saw a little bit of rain and the temperature went from 30 to 16 as I drove through. Are you afraid of getting a little wet? I tried to send a PM but couldn't get your address for @pussy :D

I get about 10 calls a day on my business phone saying my google ad is about to expire. Pressing any number to get off the list doesn't work. I phone my member of government and they said there is nothing they can do they get google calls also. No help there as they said the calls might originate overseas. I called my phone company and said that it is their responsibility to block these calls. They said since I was on a rotary phone system they couldn't add call blocking to my number. I told them that I was going to their competition as they had told me they could block phone numbers when I have a rotary system( I hadn't contacted anyone and when I did they said the same thing) My phone carrier then said that they would lower my monthly rate by over $300 per month with no contract. That was amazing I was so excited and told my wife. Do you think she was happy? No No she told me to call them back as we have 2 other phone lines that are not in rotary. I did and got another $120 off per month and they added call blocking. This was great and again I was all excited and tried to input the 15 or so numbers that keep calling. Every time the system said try again later. Finally after 2 days of these I called they phone company up and they said that they cannot block internet calls. A lot of work but I did save $5K a year. :D
