    @1poser @Bugeater

    We won't be able to leave the San Diego area until the afternoon of the 11th. This little thing called work getting in the way... still trying to determine if which direction we are going....Through Vegas or Flagstaff

    Ok @Cywolv yah...I know what you mean, ya gotta make sum ($$$) in order to play some.
    Have a safe ride out!
    Keep an eye on the weather, if there's monsoon cells it'll hit Flag and all the way north if it's from the East.

    Not at all @Neosolidus in fact I was a bit sarcastic in my reply with the "buck fity" thing :)

    A barrel roll over a lake...yawsa! Would've been great if you pulled it off!

    Have a good one.

    @MiM but it sounds like his was not Gently used........ :00008172:

    You're 100% correct @Neosolidus but I've added new props and it flies like new, plus I would only ask $150...
    So for a buck fitty @MiM can get his groove on and not worry bout baby'n it.
    This thing impressed me with all its crashes the body had no cracks motors are strong and with new props it flies like new.

    So... Selling used @1poser??? :whistling:

    I'll let you know @MiM you've got 1st dibs if my buddy here in Cali doesn't want it...
    I was also thinking about exchanging the motors to more powerful ones and race it, buts that's a whole other hobby that I won't have time for...

    One MAJOR issue to consider is that Colo and Utah ALWAYS do road maintenance in summer. I drove through Moab a few years ago, using back roads, in a brand new black Nissan 300ZX. Road oil and tar completely ruined it. Took weeks to get that crap off. finish was never the same! Also, you can't plan on making good time on I-70, since they are always working on it in summertime. I used to go back to Ks every summer; what a headache. I'll look at your course on a map.

    Ohhhh sooo true Paul, last year on our trek in "Slingshots Across America" as soon as we got into UT from NV we hit 3 road work stops that closed to 1 lane and they where minimum 10-15min waits, but fortunately no fresh oily tar;

    I guess it'll be part of the adventure, hopefully google maps (most accurate) will let us know of any construction or closures along the way.
    As we get closer to travel dates I'll contact DOT Road Conditions to see if there's any major road work on any of our routes.

    Hope you've gotten the chance to fly it @BONES I also have the Phantom which i got used from a workmate for $300 cuz he was upgrading, here's a clip of it in action;

    I've managed to beat this thing up quite a bit and it still keeps flying, Ive almost lost it once when I flew it so far i couldn't tell which way it was turning and how to get it back until i pushed the HOME button and GPS sent it back to me.
    Have fun with yours, I'm going for an upgrade to the Mavic.

    We're pretty open in terms of schedule. The one thing about Colo at that time is it will likely rain every day. so, might be good to take a break or two. I'll look at other places to see if anything is open for a small group in Pagosa or so. But I don't remember it being an easy course from Pagosa to Vail. you'd have to go up the eastern slope and then back across I-70. Or just do the utah route. also might be fun to come back through Flagstaff, where we might find some timeshare trades--or Phoenix, which would have plenty of really nice ones in July!

    I have to look at a map and see what routes you guys are talking about. Might be nice to hit happy hour at someplace like downtown cafe in EC. they have $3 pints and $3 cheeseburgers from 3-6 M-F. we could lay out some maps and make some plans--or just eat and drink...

    Sounds good Paul, HH in EC is always good, look up LV to Capitol Reef National Park in Torrey UT via hwy89,
    then Torrey to Ouray CO hwy550, then Ouray to Pagosa Spring thru Silverton and Durango, then Pagosa to Avon on that eastern route hwy160, hwy285, hwy24 to Avon.

    Unfortunately @Bugeater can't meet in Vegas til Saturday night, so we can do a faster pace eliminating the stay in Ouray CO and Capital Reef Torrey UT.
    Leave Vegas 7/9 Sunday am to Moab UT 9hrs, doing the same route...
    Monday 7/10
    Leave Moab to Pagosa Springs thru Ouray hwy550 7hrs.
    Tuesday 7/11
    Last leg from Pagosa to Avon 5hrs
    All this is pending on weather which we can avoid if necessary and change our route to get us there Tuesday night. Hope that's good with you Tony?

    Thanks, buddy! Man, I checked on Vegas and Avon for my timeshare trades and NOTHING is left for the relevant weeks. the first includes July 4 in Vegas and everyone is sold out. And there is NOTHING in the Rockies for the relevant week for SSITR. dang, dang, dang. Only good news is that those film festivals in Colo. are in Sept, not July. So we could bring the SS. And what great footage we could get there!!! So, hey, is there a SS across America this year? I can't find anything. One of the things we had thought about doing was the SS lifestyle idea that we played with a bit in Irvine, but really get to know people, using their sound bytes over driving shots as they make there way on a big trip. Maybe we could do some of that on the way to Rockies? I think I have counted you, someone from El Cajon, and maybe one other interested in caravanning to Colo??? Is that right? BTW, thanks for that footage!

    That's great if you take the SS and we caravan up Paul. I gues there's 3 SS'ers down here in SD, @Cywolv and myself that would go to SSITR, he's checking his schedule to see if he can travel on the same dates.
    So if you're in El Cajon let me know if you can travel on July 7th for Vegas.
    Good to here from you @mugshot.

    Victor

    @mugshot those vids are AWESOME...
    WELL DONE! I'm Victor and it was great meeting you and your daughter, I'm also glad you used some of my footage I sent you.
    Looking forward to seeing you at Avon SSITR July 12-16 hope you can make it even if it's in you're RV.

    Ok, here's my thoughts @Bugeater @Cywolv
    meet in Vegas Saturday morning and start heading north on I-15 going thru Zion National Park to hwy 89 ending in Torrey UT which is Capital Reef National Park. It's 330mi and with stops should take 6-61/2 hrs to Torrey then stay the night.

    7/9/17 Sunday
    Torrey UT through Moab ending in Ouray CO hwy 550, another 6-61/2 hr day doing 303mi.
    You've done these roads Tony and you know how beautiful they are.

    7/10/17 Monday
    Ouray down hwy 550 (awesome road!) to Pagosa Springs 4-4 1/2hrs with stops or really take our time and stretch it out, but Pagosa Springs is a must if you've never been to the Hot Springs Resort! There are plenty of lodging options so you don't have to stay at the resort, but you have to spend time in the Hot Springs!

    7/11/17 Tuesday
    Pagosa Springs to Avon Comfort Inn is a 5hr 231mi ride. This'll get us up there a day early or we can stay somewhere else before Avon, but vendors roll in on Tuesday to set up.
    Let me know what you think and anyone else is welcome on this journey if you have the time and the Aloha spirit.

    I have a 2016 slingshot SL. The smell is so bad it gives headaches and makes people sick to their stomachs. I would have thought since it's rear facing that it wouldn't come into the cabin area. Even at some faster speeds you can smell the carbon monoxide. Any ideas as this is my first time doing this.

    Some top/windshield combo will need a wind deflector to prevent back pressure from circulating back into the cab.
