Thanks Will Stewart ! The forces when these guys wrap up at 200 mph are incredible. Like you said, it's amazing that they often walk away unscathed, but that last wreck was a lot worse for him than typical. Hopefully he'll heal up and keep racing.

Who is this lucky owner? Another forum member?
That is the coolest ride ever! Slingrazor (and Painter) knocked it out of the park. #jealous!

I can't find it with this site's search function either but Edward Neal started a detailing thread that has many opinions on many products and is worth going through. Can anyone find it and post a link? I'm a technoweenie!

I've always found SearchTempest results to reflect the distance I specified in my search parameters. It would be nice if ST was smart enough to recognize duplicate listings, though.
I understand that you can limit the search distance but if you conduct an ongoing search to find a particular item like a Slingshot or Corvette and are looking for a deal, it is human nature to expand out your search over time and then low and behold, there's what you're looking for 12 states away. The Sling I found in Minneapolis was a brand new 16.5 SL with 3.8 miles for $17k (this was a couple years ago). The Vette I found in Houston is an 08 with the LS3 that had 6,800 miles on it before I drove it home. I'm doing this right now for my brother who's in the market for a snow cat and I found just what he's looking for in Colorado. He's less than thrilled with the location.

perfect example article....
So you're saying that if manufacturers try something new and it doesn't work that they'll stop doing it??? Man Bigdog you should be a CEO or something...

http://www.searchtempest.com will let you search Craig's List listings within whatever distance from your location you desire. Enter your search terms, zip code and distance to search. You will probably find multiple hits for items listed under more than one CL location, but it's the fastest way to seach Craig's List.
Be very careful with searchtempest. You may find what you're looking for 2,000 miles away in Minneapolis or 2,300 miles away in Houston. Ask me how I know.

I can't find any info on Newman's status. This instant info society ain't all it's cracked up to be...

There's some good racin' goin' on right now. This should be an entertaining finish!

There's always a few on CL out here on the west coast. Right now there is a 16 SL gloss black with PRP seats, 14k miles for $14k, an 18 SL sunset red with 2,555 miles for $16,990 (at a car dealer), a 15 SL nuclear sunset orange with a whopping 1,628 miles for $15.5k and a 16 SL black with flag wrap on the hood, a handful of accessories and 7,800 miles for $16.5k OBO. All negotiable I would guess...

GM 2.4 Ecotech?????
It would have to be boosted.

I will take Trump and the First Lady. That limousine looked fast out on the track.
At 22,000 pounds it really makes you wonder what's under the hood.

Let's hear it if you have a favorite or prediction for winning today's race.
Part of me would like to see the 48, Jimmie Johnson win in his last season although I've never rooted for him before. I kind of like the number 4, Harvick to win today.
Anyone else?

I just read that article on another thread and I believe the author misspoke (miswrote?). That should have said autocycle although I thought the number for that was 34 states. It is a changing environment.
It seems like accuracy in reporting on the internet is optional. Who checks all this stuff out anyway?

As BryanL mentioned earlier in this thread, the e-brake lock will fit the stock handle with a minor adjustment. LargeCar uses one and he told me just had to sand a little girth off the bottom of the handle. You'll want to make sure that your knob isn't so slender that the lock can be pulled over it when installed.

I don't have auto body experience but for the diamond plate aluminum rear protection plates that I've been making and selling, I go to the local auto parts store (Auto Zone) and get the heaviest duty 3M tape that is 7/8" wide for about $17/roll. The selections at the department stores, amazon or home depot are too confusing.

Same here. Experience has taught me to hang onto the stock parts to put back on the bike if it is wrecked and I want to keep my aftermarket stuff. If they last forever in storage they still suck and I'll never use them.

I started my own slingshot riders club in my area.....I’m president, Vice President, secretary and treasurer and founding member....only member, oldest member, funnest member, coolest member.
it’s lonely.....I tried that and ended up kicking myself out for insubordination. Plus my wife didn't want me meeting at my house!

I was always running with my buddy Dan everyone called us Cheech and Chong I still have no Idea why

If I had a hybrid that would do the job I needed, I'd be all in.
Right now though, it's a gasoline engine fleet for me.
The Slingshot is a hybrid - it burns gas AND rubber!
