    Stow-a-way?

Elon was on camera all day up until close to the launch. He is a fascinating man and if you asked me who I'd like to spend lunch (not launch) with, he'd be it. I have to give him credit for participating in, but not dominating the production. His intellect is unquestionable and his accomplishments are admirable.

Now if I could just get him to look at my prototype Potato gun.

    Yeah, it's that good...

This one is for you Drizeh .

    Husband's and Wife's diaries......

    Wife's Diary:

Tonight, I thought Bob was acting weird. We had made plans to
meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long; and I was a little late for our "date." Conversation wasn't flowing, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late; but he made no comment on it .So I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

    Husband's Diary:

Slingshot wouldn't start, can't figure it out.

I’m trying to be calm about this while thing but im so upset yet there’s nothing I can do but to fix it, perhaps make the bastard pay for half of it. 😤

Fixed it for ya. That really sucks. It brings up the old adage 'no good deed goes unpunished'. I do believe that broken lip is a separate piece from the hood. I'm sure the savvy body guys will ring in here soon.

I'm glad you're keeping your Zen. Broken plastic isn't worth blowing a gasket. Hopefully you'll get it put back together without a huge expense.

Not a lot of meat in that article but it looks interesting. I think the leaning action could appeal to motorcyclists who are used to leaning to corner whether it assists the turn or not. As the owner of a 1985 Kawasaki GPz750, I've always been impressed with Kawasaki engineering. In 1985 they had a mono-shock swingarm, inline 4-cyl with 4 carbs, a 4 into 2 header with crossover, and other technology that was ahead of it's time for many years. The body styling could make this an awesome vehicle or a dud. I'm interested to see what and if they come up with.

BKL you bring us a lot of interesting stuff. Thank you again, sir!

I would like for everybody to take a long look at what showed up in my town last night. What a pleasant surprise. We had an awesome ride and an awesome dinner. My Slingshot brothers and sisters are welcome anytime.

123hotdog a little birdie just told me that it's Harvey and Diana's 43rd wedding anniversary today. If you see them, please tell them congrats for me and give one or both a big hug (at your discretion of course)!

I am just tiered but would love to retired - who knows the way this virus thing is shaping up my dream may come true. Not ready for it yet but you adjust and play the hand you are dealt!

I call myself self-employed or self-unemployed depending on the day. I figured out I can say I'm retired too and I'll still be doing the same things. Sometimes I move so slow it's hard to detect productive activity so if I do retire, it's unlikely anyone will notice!

Seriously, my goal was to be able to retire at age 55 and not want to. I nailed the not want to part but came up a bit short on the be able to part. I'm closing in on it now. Stay tuned!

My Sling that has not had the fuse box recall is killing batteries. It killed my OEM MC battery which dropped to 3.7 volts. It took over a week on the tender to get a green light and it showed 12.8 volts on the meter. As soon as I tried to start with it, it dropped back down to 4 something and never came back. When I went to start Saturday with a new this year car battery it was at 3.7 volts. One day on the charger and it was only up to 4.8. I'm guessing it's toast and I plan to quietly exchange it and get my ass in for the recall in hopes that it cures this issue. I go for weeks with no problem then one day it's dead. I'm not keeping it on the tender so I guess I need to get power out to my portable storage unit/garage where it lives now also.

No Optima here. I'd hate to kill a $1,400 battery or whatever they cost.

Awesome. We are planning the fall of 2021

Sorry. Not enough time to plan.

Ha! Just kidding. I think you mentioned August. My wife has summers off with her school district job and she is at work in August, but I've been acting more and more like a retired guy and could easily make the trip down the coast. If you start a thread early summer just for this trip, people will have the opportunity to see your plans, and possibly join in or run part of the trip with you. You'll also have a place to post all those wonderful SoCal pics!

SlingLow ,sorry for butting in...But what happened to KayTwo?? I am in the upstate of S.C. and have heard a lot about him.Just curious if he sold his Sling or is it health related issue that he disappeared??

There's no butting in here SC Slinger ! When I last talked with KayTwo he was somewhat overwhelmed with his changing life. If nothing has changed, and it probably did, he was scheduled to end his tenure in NC and move north to a naval base, I believe in Connecticut. He has two young children and his wife completed her education and became a school teacher. It's been a while since we've talked and I'm going to use this as motivation to call him tomorrow to see how he's doing.

In the meantime (I got these from him):

    I really miss that guy!

Poor Slinglow, lonely and will bribe anyone to come see him...

Story of my life - all dressed up and no place to go!;(

If I take you up on your offer, can I choose the month? No sense in wasting a free invitation like that on a month than only has 30 days to it. August looks better :):)

Phil, you can choose the month day and year! Except I'm getting my hair done in August. How 'bout July?

That's perfect. The little woman turns the big five O in 2022. The fall or winter is perfect as I am a Landscaper and way too busy to make that trip any other time but fall or winter. Thanks for the invite and I will sure take you up on it. It'll prob be 2021. We've been planning this trip since the day we bought the Sling.

123hotdog I would encourage you to let us all know if you plan that trip and I bet others would figure out how to join you along the way, and other semi-locals like myself might visit SoCal (the state and the person) at the same time. It's a great way to meet the people you almost know!

I joined such a group when KayTwo planned a trip from Fountain Inn, NC to Sundre, Alberta, Canada for Slingfest in 2018. He picked up riders in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and I met them in Montana. We had an awesome trip while I was with them (it was probably OK without me), and lifelong friendships were formed.
