Lucas, our apologies, we are not going to be able to make this run (I tried to get out of our prior commitment trust me). But we hope you all have a blast!
No worries, completely understand! We'll miss not having you guys there!

How high up did you mount SlingWingz on pillar. Can’t figure it out.
Sent from my iPhone using Polaris Slingshot Forum mobile app
Just saw this when @WOLF tagged me... I mounted mine about 3/4" from the top of of the painted plastic on the pillar... that's assuming they bracket design hasn't changed.
This has been a good location as far as functioning to direct wind flow where I want it and clearing the hood opening and closing.
That’s the next one...
Lots of footage to go though ~> won’t get to it until next week. Long hours at the office...
waiting patiently...
IS IT DONE YET!!!
That all depends on the tire, though. Keep in mind that a wider tire is spreading the same minimal rear weight (600#) over a wider contact patch, therefore lessening the downward force per square inch.
Now, if the wider tire is a better tire than what you had in the narrower size, that may mitigate the loss of downward force.
Also, wider tires may have a better chance of hydroplaning, depending on the tread.
Video 2-of-4 is up!
Anxiously awaiting the Saturday morning stroll video!
my 2¢
Wide on the rear - better for traction
More narrow on the front - easier turning/better handling
Who is that? Sitting on the curb is @TheRock. The lady is @adventure4me. The dude behind the sling mouth breathing is @V-SHOT.
The sling is Rocky's. A few parts are original.
Great to see you again, again!
VERY FEW!!
Clean install brother. Very nice Slingshot loading screen!
Thank you, Sir!
So I did do the Metra install. Quite a bit trimming required, even more than what the instructions specify to get things to fit together nicely. All in all, I like it. Probably not as refined as the Scosche, but the splash guard is more important to me to protect my $1700 stereo from the elements. The head-unit support brackets are also much sturdier on the Metra kit. One other thing I liked better on the Scosche kit is the viewing angle is a little better, but it's not much of a difference. If these two manufacturers would take tips from the other, they could build the ultimate stereo kit for the Slingshot!!!
So anyway, here are a few pics of the installed product:
Took advantage of the crappy weather and sifted through some video footage taken over the weekend... here’s video 1 of 4 (my ride up to Clarksville).
OMG!!! You get caught, you are going to jail!!!
We were supposed to have rain in Winchester at 2, no rain here yet either...
The ride home was pretty good except the last 15 miles. Rained like hell so by the time I finally made it home I was pretty soaked. @V-SHOT, Velma, and @A-Team SS got soaked also.
At least it was at the very end where you could run in the house and take a hot shower. Glad you guys made it home safely! Only one I have t seen post up is @ethermion
Okay, I mentioned doing a Peaks of Otter Run a week or so ago, but didn’t get the impression there was much interest. After this weekend at Slingshots Uncorked II, it seems there is more interest than I thought. No solid plans, routes or formality here, just looking to get a few folks together to ride. If you are available May 19th, and want to do a run, post up your participation status. We will solidify some details once we have an idea of group size and interest.
Lucas
Glad to hear you made it home safely. Great to see you and the Mrs. again. Wonderful time had by all in Clarksville.
Yes Sir, I assume you are posting from home as well? Did you guys all stay mostly dry?
Thanks again for the save with the gas cap. Otherwise I’d have been driving around with a ziplock bag and a rubber band over the filler cap!
Great time at SlingShots Uncorked. Thanks again Mitch and Colette for another wonderful weekend in Beautiful Clarksville. A special thanks to @lrobbi for the tee shirt.
I second what @av8ingtom said, Fantastic event hosted by two truly amazing people! Thank you so much for the hard work and effort you put in to this @MACAWS and Collette! Very thankful to you two for sharing this great little town with your Sling Family and very greatful to you for opening your home to us all. I love you guys!!
Also, great pictures Tom, the one above is one of my favorites! A beautiful lady standing behind a beautiful Sling! @adventure4me, you are truly an inspiration to get out and live life to the fullest and to take advantage of the little time we are afforded on this little blue ball! Thank you!!
How cool! If you can't be the lucky one you can marry her. That's what I did! I really wish I was close enough to the action to make these events and meet y'all but it's a bit of a black hole out here in Washington - Slingshot and gov't-wise anyway. Hope everyone enjoys the event and I'm looking forward to the videos and pics. The bridge shot and setup looks awesome. Nice opportunity for the attendees to see what we're all about and don't forget to submit your pics to '2018SlingshotCalendar.WaitThat'sNotMe'.
@adventure4me made it!! And she is Washington, I believe! Just sayin’!
Welcome @Coach!! Are you a Sailor by chance?
Mrs. and I will be there tomorrow. Dunno who we are chasing down to give $$s to since we are last minute pile on but I'm sure we'll figure it out
We are riding out tomorrow at 9 from Hardee’s. 916 Virginia Ave, Clarksville, VA. If you aren’t making that, then we are meeting folks who aren’t going on the ride at ~1130 at Sunoco, 8188 US-15, Clarksville, VA 23927 to line up on the bridge inside the wine festival.
