I think you all are missing the point. I would suggest a fuel filter check/change. Seems that when a filter is plugged it acts as a kind of limiter to demand. When he backs off the throttle performance picks up because fuel flow demand goes down to a point the filter can supply.

My shop could use a good scrubbing out as well so I can epoxy the floors.
Man, y'all are missing out. Had a beautiful ride up the Clackamas river then thru some really good looking forests to Detroit Lake. We ate at The Cedars Restuarant then rode past the lake and down to hwy 213 and back up to Oregon City, only 180 miles but a great time by all.

I don't go on toll roads, to much fun on the side roads to pay for the ride on a boring turnpike.

Lark Trailer, 8.5 X 14 with pointed nose, two axle with brakes on both axles. Pulls good behind the fifth wheel, has room for two spares inside, ramp rear door good for 2 thousand pounds. My sling has air shocks so airing up clears everything going in and out. E track tie downs in both directions, forward for towing behind truck, backwards for behind fifth wheel. My fifth wheel can only have 400 pounds tongue weight hence the backwards loading. First tow was from Oklahoma to Idaho, Oregon will not allow doubles. Had to drop in Idaho and go back 400 miles to pick it up, will have to reverse when going home. $4300

Younger brother and his wife may follow us in a rented mustang convertible, if they can find one. He rides a Interstate Valcury but his wife has back issues, hence the mustang.

Anybody else wanna ride boldly ride?

Should be okay then, six hours plus lunch should get us back by 6pm and it should still be warm then. You know us old folks get creaking in the bones.
LC
Well I was thinking 4am but we could start from your place at 11 if that works.
will leaving that late get us back before cold sets in?
Thinking Monday may be the better day. Let's pencil in Monday. Need to learn how to tag people so I can tag Brian to see if he can go. Any other Portland area people are welcome as well.

Thinking of a ride up around Detroit lake during the first of next week. Just need to pick the best day for it. Any interest?

Yes!!! I am a newer driver and would love to accelerate my learning curve. I consider myself cautiously aggressive in that I love spirited driving and hammering the twisties, but do not want to wreck. Therefore, my 'pushing the envelope' comes in stages as I gain experience and confidence. The one group ride I've been on with only 3 Slingshots was very entertaining and useful as I was able to follow @BryanL through corners at pace with confidence I wouldn't have had on my own. With @LargeCar bringing up the rear, I was really able to focus on my driving and keeping pace with Bryan through the corners. Just like skiing, quadding, and many other speed sports, running with a more skilled person can increase your skill and confidence much more quickly!
Doug, I saw absolutely nothing lacking in your driving abilities. However, getting expert help and advise is always a good thing. Thinking of next week taking a buzz up around Detroit lake and invite you to ride along, maybe we can get Brian to join in.

how do I read a thread from the start, especially if it is 300 plus pages?
