So now the crap is coming down that the puke that did the shootings will not face a death sentence because of some dumb ass 2005 ruling by the judicial system (probably the supreme court), not sure which. Now as it stands he will be up for parole in forty years, that four years per death, that is pure crap. I'm so pissed at our judicial system i am about to have a aneurysm. This is in my mind a great part of why we as a nation are going down a slippery slope straight to hell. And if we don't vote out all the bleeding hearts in the system we are just asking for more. I totally agree with some of the people that posted for a quick and unwavering end to this kind of crime. We have him dead to rights of the crime, that should make his death as right and swift as those that he killed. How the hell do you tell the parents of a kid that was killed that the value of their child's life is only four years?

Maybe we should round up all the liberal bleeding hearts and judges, the supreme court, that make up stupid laws, that give light sentencing to this kind of crime and put them in a class room environment and let armed screwballs walk around them for a year or so. Lets not forget that all of our government buildings where these lawmakers and judges sit is heavily guarded by armed men, take the guards off the judges and put them in the schools.

I'm so pissed I have to quit before I say something that will offend....................................

We need to get God back in our schools, government. We also need some judges with some chahonnies to put people that need it in prison. So many things have led to the downfall of our society. Tv shows that depicts violence, even in cartoon format. The Simpsons or the longest running sitcom on TV, it teaches disrespect to all authority. Video games teach violence, and that death is not for ever, just reboot and play again. So many issues to address in this format.

Jeez, all I wanted to do is give props to a vendor that treated me right in sales and service. Did not really want to re-invent the whole forum. But maybe I should stand back and see where it goes.

Paul, I would suggest you should get the above gasket set, from 1320 direct. When I did mine I got my gaskets direct from 1320 not through Ebay and they gave me a nice discount. Lay a straight edge on the head side flange and check it for flatness, I had to mill mine about .045 to get it flat. Then get some permatex high temp copper silicon (in squeeze tube) and put a generous coat on both sides of the gasket when installing, torque everything and you should be good to go. If you use the old sealing ring the silicon and gasket will make up for it being pre crushed, no need for a new one.

Split the vendor list into two categories, one paid up good vendor, one un-paid up bad vendor. Assign ranking according to their handling or not handling issues. Give each party in a dispute a place to address their problems, assign a trusted non envolved member to moderate that forum.

Not an easy issue to handle, good luck keeping everybody happy, won't happen.

I just give them my local FBI offices phone number and address. Had one Craig's list scammer mail info to the FBI got a nice letter from the FBI asking that I not do that.

Ok now that I have your attention. This is going to be one of those rare rant on a vendor, a good one. Let me tell you about my problem and how it got fixed. Every Time I got up in the rpm and went for the shift as soon as I released the throttle I got a backfire. Annoying to say the least, even embarrassing at times. Wife hated it I hated it. The culprit here is simple, oxygenated air getting into the exhaust stream where there is still enough hot gases to cause ignition. The problem is finding the leak and resolving the issue. At this point I should tell you that there is no stock exhaust on the slingshot at all. I removed the entire system and sealed everything, real good, as I examined every piece as best I could upon re-assembly, I even milled the header to head flange .045 to make it flat. I purchased 1320's composite gasket set and installed it. A copper base hi temp sealer was used upon all assembly steps on every place there was a joint of any kind. Go for a test and bang, back to the shop. Remove the header and replace with stock cast iron manifold, seal good as well. Go for a test drive and bang, back to the shop. Now the 1320 header is eliminated as the leaking piece, so it has to be after the header somewhere in the aftermarket exhaust. Here comes the vender, @Jeff Welter. He confirms my suspicion of the air leak, has me take some pictures of the first pipe (the first after the header that has the muffler in it, and the second pipe in the system. After a few emails and remembering that mine was possible the first 2017 to wear the dual exhaust Jeff tells me he will send out a new primary and secondary pipe. He does just that, plus a new crush ring and the new tail pipe support piece. After getting over some PTSD crap I finally get the chance to do the install. On the test drive I wind it up a little and shift and no backfire, so then i wind it up to red line (maybe a bit past) and shift, still no backfire. Wife and I are happy that we can ride without all the backfiring and causing us to be nervous and others to get pissed off at us. So far I am just in awe of the service after sale that we have gotten from Jeff and Angie. If anybody reading this is thinking of getting after market exhaust I would strongly suggest you get your exhaust from @Jeff Welter. If you think it may be to expensive think about the quality of the exhaust it self and the service after the sale that you will get from these fine people and an outstanding company/vendor.

Off the soap box, would be out riding but Oklahoma is getting hammered by storms, again.

I can just see the first year free membership numbers, like 20 to 25 k out of the 50 k or so sling owners out there. Then when we see our cardboard membership card and a years worth of marketing hype then a $99.99 renewal fee, the second year member numbers are like 37 people that got their renewal as a father's day or birthday gift bought by a person that does not know what else to gift. Still on the fence.

    LC

Got the card, still on the fence as to whether I'll join. And like stated before it may be a good place for them to gather information on who and what got modified. Anybody lose their federally mandated cat with new exhaust?

Wife and I get waves all the time. But then again we are in Oklahoma where everybody waves at everybody else, often just a small tip of the hand. I am training myself to give a three finger wave for three wheels. But then again I'm just odd like that.

I think you are going to get a lot of replies specifically talking about the rear tire more than the fronts since the fronts seem to last longer.

I think you are correct @Br4hm4 that the rear will be the most replaced tire of the three. @Blaze thanks for the post, I went to Discount Tire yesterday to get some ideas. The kid that helped me could not quite grasp the idea of keeping the tire similar in amount of rolling distance front to rear for the Nanny controls. I buy a lot of tires at Discount, just got the new guy and went away more confused.

What I want to do is get the tallest side walls I can on the SlingShot for more comfort. At 70 my racing days are behind me. Between the wife and I we have had 4 back and 1 neck surgery in last last couple years so we are trying to soften the ride as much as we can.

We are in a 2017 SL so we are 18s in front and 20s in back. Front tires look new, can still read the name on the center rib (almost) but the rear is looking thin with just under 10k on them.

    LC

Been reading all the different threads on tires and it is really confusing. I would like to have as much information in one place as possible. So maybe if we set a format for information we can help me and others to make better informed tire choices.

    1. Year model of your ride. 2015, 2016, 2016.5, etc

    2. Purpose for tire use. Street, racing, both.

    3. Tire brand and size.

    4. Tire location. Front or rear.

    5. Change in tire size, i.e. 225/35R/18 to 225/45R/18

    6. Where purchased and prices paid.

    7. Any issues with Nanny controls.

    8. Anything else I need to include.

    Notes.

Maybe if this works well we can pin it so it would not be hard to search, or find.
