Does anyone have a 20 or 21 Wiring schematic that shows the rear tail light diagrams that they could post? Just knowing the plugs are the same don't cut it.
I am still trying to find out can the new taillight assy's be put on the older ones.

Back to the original question! Has anyone actually swapped a 20/21 rear tail light assy on a 16/19 SS, does it fit and does it hook up?

I POSTED IN THE SLING SHOT EVENTS TWO OF THE FLYERS FOR THIS EVENT.
Some of you have asked about getting a laser alignment. Scott Riley the guy who does them will be there also!
I am going to try and post one more flyer that shows about the host hotel. Please be advised that the special price has expired, it is now $200 a night. Depending on your Vegas goings you can get it cheaper at other Casino's

This is IT.
I just received a very prompt reply from Madstad stating the the mounting of their windshield on the 2020-21 models is very different to the earlier models so my question is mute. They are however offering replacement parts at a discount so another thumbs-up for Madstad!
Bill
The 2020-21 models with metal mounting brackets will not fit on any earlier slingshots. The problem is they don't fit right on the 2020 or 21 Slingshots without bowing up the hood. I have installed them on both new slings with the same problem. Madstad's answer is my hinges are out of alignment. (bullshit)

Polaris has changed the Angle drive fluid to 85W-250 for ALL Slingshots. The New part # is 2889023. API GL-5. This was originally for the 20/21 models but no more. It is now for All.
Question is, where can you get it other than Polaris?

Teresa and I will be in on Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing you and Angela. Let us know when/where.

We have a twist dynamics adjustable 13 inch on our 17 and it is great. Problem is neither TD or Madstad have one that fits a 20 or 21. It's been a year now you would think they would pull their head out !
Bill, Teresa and I will be in on Tuesday and leave on Sat. We look forward to the get together.

OK, the servicing side of seeing a dealer is getting covered pretty well from those that are mechanically inclined, that is great and keep giving the opinions. For those folks that are not so inclined, who would depend on the dealer, or other shop, what are your thoughts? And what about if you just wanted to check out a SlingShot to purchase, how close would the dealer have to be then?
Bill
A selling dealer I will drive and have 200 miles to get a good deal. Saving $3000 was worth it. That said service is very important. First off if the service is competent and professional then what you need done will determine where and how far you go. For warranty work you have no options, the dealer is it. For routine maintenance like an oil change that can be done at a GM dealership or other TRUSTED lub place for 19's and older. You can also check with motorcycle shops to see what they can offer some may be willing to mess with it. Thank goodness we don't have a shortage of dealers here, it's just some are better than others depending on what you need done. I would recommend that if you are going to have to take that SS out of town then call the dealers service dept and talk with them. See if you can check references and referrals before you travel.

You youngsters! If it ain't Fats, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee, early Elvis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Lee Allen it don't play in my ride.
drfubar How do you have your phone mounted? My wife says she wants hers that way.
Thanks so much, James! Really good advice and appreciate the referral to the texas dealers. Definitely worth the comparison.
I wondered if the luggage racks would work with s slingshade. That is too bad they do not. Hopefully someone will rectify that.
Love the Elvis quote too!
Since you mentioned the slingshade you had better ask for opinions on it as I have heard lots of negative comments from owners, a few ok but mostly negative.

Interesting. From the sheer premise of having shade from the strong and 340 day a year sun presence in New Mexico, it make sense to get one. We do not want our heads to cook! That said, I would be curious to hear what the negatives are. Besides the fact that it precludes us from getting the luggage racks, which is a definite negative.
Thanks for your feedback.
I was not talking about tops. I have one now and am getting one for our new 2020. That said the comment was directed to the SLINGSHASDE
specifically. The SLINGSHADE has problems and their are others cheaper that do a better job. I think a top is very necessary as NM isn't the only state to get hot in the summer. I would recommend you get a top, just not a slingshade. Ask others .
Good luck

This being our first time there I have a question. Do you part your trucks and trailers on the fairgrounds? What about security?
Your comments please.

Their are two dealers in Texas that sell more SS and offer the biggest discounts. Daniel at Mancuso, Gulf Freeway in Houston or Dave at Alamo Cycleplex in San Antoino . These guys sell more SS than anyone in the US. They deliver also. We saved over $3,000 from our local dealers best price. They are both straight shooters.
I would recommend you get a price from Rosedale then call either or both of these guys for a price on the same thing. If its not worth the trip or the hassle at least you know where you stand.
On a side note The luggage racks are nice but if you are considering a top most don't allow for the luggage rack mounting.
I know this sounds like more work but the enjoyment you will get from driving around Albuquerque in that Slingshot will be worth it.
Elvis said " life is too short to drive boring cars" he was never more right !

Try Auto Zone they have a selection in the stores.
