I'm adding all kinds of lights and electrical options that are available on different sites. Possibly heated seats...with all this extra electrical demand do we need to upgrade our charging systems and batteries? Has anyone done this?

I saw a picture of a fire extinguisher mounted in a slingshot. I also saw pictures of a burning slingshot.... So does anyone know the cause of the SS Fire/s. Is it a common problem or faulty mechanics or equipment? If you have an extinguisher in your SS can you please post some pictures and a link to the extinguisher you bought and why you picked that model. Also interested in mounting locations.

That is pretty close to the one I made. I have to fit it under my roof unless I decide to mount it on the outside. Looking at other manufactures items they all use 3/8" ...that said it could be over kill or just out of liability issues. I'm going to use 3/8". Inside mounting would probably flex less than mounting outside. But I'm also considering using 4 mounts instead of two.

Do these after market exhaust systems sound like bumble bees on steroids or do they have a nice rumble...if I had the choice I pick sounding like a Harley instead of a pissed off bee.

The ones you can buy are 3/8" thick. I would think 1/4 would really have flexing problems... Have you tried mounting it on the outside to see if it made any difference? I also notice you didn't cut out around the piece behind the headrest... Did you make standoff pieces to avoid that? I wonder if that would also make a difference...the after market ones are cut out around them with about a 3/8" gap.

I'll post some pictures...soon. I also had a big deliberation about how to mount my cell phone so it doesn't block my view...that said I didn't use the windshield mount I mounted it directly to the hole right about the radio where the windshield bracket would bolt down...and I used the windshield reinforcement bracket on the underside of the dash. It does block some view but not like the mirror.

After looking at the factory vent I think I can cut openings into the verticals on it. Has anyone ever attempted modifying the vent in this way?

I'm working on making my own rear wind deflector. I've seen two different companys models and one of them mounts theirs inside the cock pit and one mounts on the outside. So which one will work best and does anyone know if either way would be a better mount to reduce the most wind and noise? I'll add that my SS has a roof over it so the deflector will be about two inches lower and I'm not using a windshield because of the problems it causes with my vision. DISTORTION...

I bought an after market rear view mirror that is supposed to mount to the center windshield support. Doing a test fit the giant mirror seems to block a lot of forward vision creating a blind spot from 12:30 to about 2 o'clock. My SS has a roof on it and after much deliberation I drilled a hole in the roof as far front as I could. I'm pretty happy with it now. I haven't driven it on the road yet to know how much I'll really be able to see.

Ok so after everything is said and done....will opening up the center hood vent on the slingshot help or hurt the engine performance, passenger heat issue. Basically is it worth doing or not?

Hi, I'm new just picked up my SS Tuesday...anyway I've read lots about the passenger heat issue and I can feel the difference. After you added the rear exhaust system did the passenger compartment become cooler and would the insulation kit still be required. Thanks
