I don't know if it would help, but I'd get the warranty case # or whatever from the dealer and then start calling Polaris directly to see what they say about expediting your repair or making this right in some other way.

blah blah blah
Really, must we bring politics into every thread? There's no reason for it.

They pulled the drive out, had it on the bench when they pulled the cover.

I don't know what other parts need to be replaced but the 2015-2016 Service Manual says:
Quote15. Apply Threebond™ or similar liquid gasket to inside of a cleaned angle drive cover sealing surface.
16. Install the angle drive cover and the ten bolts securing the cover to the angle drive case(no mention of a non-liquid gasket)
But your tech may be replacing other angle drive seals (eg. pinion oil seal, sprocket oil seal) at the same time to cover all bases.

Just had my 2016.5 SL in for service because the angle drive was leaking. There are a number of possible sources for a leak but in my case it seemed to be weeping out from around the cover bolts.
When the tech took the cover off he discovered that the liquid gasket had been applied around the outside edge of the bolt holes (red area) which allows the oil leak out around the bolts. He figures the liquid gasket should be applied to the inside edge of the bolt holes (green area), but to be safe he applied it to both sides (green + blue area). Made a lot of sense to me and I'm surprised they appear to have got it wrong at the factory. No previous service work on the angle drive (I bought it new). Maybe it was built on a Friday?

Mine locked up last year and put me in a ditch on a long sweeper.
I wonder if it was the rack locking up or maybe just the electric power steering assist failed? The steering feels pretty close to locked up when there's no power assist. -
Updated with some samples from music visualizer, enjoy!
The new video is great but the music is overmodulated/distorted. Or at least it was for me. Try turning the volume down a bit on the next one.

I just fold the seats forward, keeps the sun of of it and it don't cost a dime.
Just wait until your wife burns her thigh on the part of the seat that wasn't fully shaded. Got seat covers the next day!

Clutch pedal uses the same magnetic switch as the brake pedal. As long as your Slingshot starts with clutch depressed using the start button, you should be okay.
If with transmission in neutral, your Slingshot starts with the start button and clutch not depressed, the clutch switch is bad or improperly adjusted.
I think you're suggesting that normally the Slingshot should start in Neutral, even without depressing the clutch. That's not how it works on mine. I think you must have the clutch depressed to start it with the start button, even if you are in neutral. -
We have not put in a red and blue yet. I suppose I could but I’d advise you only run them parked!
We have several patterns that try to stay legal with current motorcycle running light laws, but best you check and make sure what you are running won’t get you a ticket! Always can be safe and run straight white!
Yep, when you mentioned being able to switch patterns I thought that might be a funny one to flip through for a laugh in a parking lot or something (which is the only place most patterns would be legal anyway). -
I'm hooking up my halo lights and the glowing red headlights
With the horsepower you're packing, are the headlights actually white but just appear red due to the Doppler shift? Is the glow from the plasma cloud at reentry speeds? -
On another note we are coming to Victoria for "High Tea" and doing a boot to Ucluelet Sound. Are you available to take a drive up Hwy 14 during 3rd week of June or 2nd week of July? We could meet when we are coming or going. Think of staying Ucluelet during the week to avoid weekenders and June(if possible) to avoid summer holidays.
That sounds like it could work, yep. Hwy 14 (Victoria to Port Renfrew and then through to Lake Cowichan) is one of my favourite runs with @Soluga. Some of it barely qualifies as 'highway' but you'll enjoy it if you like twisty back roads. I'll message you my email address and let's stay in touch. -
Stairgod, which company are you dealing with? Good to know who in Canada we can work with and who is disappointing you.
-
Hmmmm... alternately flashing red and blue halos?
-
Let's just say you'll want to drive east, not west.

I never would have thought of submitting it!
OK, sent. Glad I washed it the day before. -
Pasting here from TDS (April 29, 2018):
WOW! Great ride and great Tour of the Huntsville Slingshot Factory!
We had about 30-35 Slingshots show up, a group from north Georgia and a group from Chattanooga,
...
One interesting tidbit of information- the new 2019 will have a new Polaris designed engine .... we will have to find out more ...... but one of the first major changes for the Slingshot line!
...
No real details on the new engine other than lighter and more powerful? No real specifics yet! -
I'll bet there's days and nights in Cold Lake, Alberta when you WISH it was 2200 F outside.

directs hot air onto my right shin and it starts to drive my nuts after an hour or more drive.
That far up? Ouch. -
