Congrats on the new gig @dharmab . I can second, tenth or one-hundredth Dharma being a down to earth good guy.
Hey Dharma, I told you I might copy your steering wheel. It's not completely the same, if I recall you had slit, not circle cut outs.

Another great video @'Chub . So is @'Slingshot Garage' truly home now?
-
Not far now, it was a pleasure following your journey @Slingshot Garage. Finsh strong!!
-
Thanks @garyw , I will be doing the "lock up the brakes" bleed procedure once I get home from work. I'm happy it worked for you and hope to get the same results.
-
It looks great @Shack , even more so in person. You know I was kicking myself as I read your post. I never had you start it at MV so that I could hear it. SSITS needs to be 2wks long. If there were a second week I could probably slow down and really look at things and talk to people longer. I had the attention span of a damn kid in a toy store.
We'll get together again, then I might even have time for a ride. It is a very beautiful (in a MANLY way) turbo setup. I really like the lack of big creep like we always hear about.
-
Thanks for the heads up @Carbon_One . I have ran through a few toll roads in the Sling and never knew there were separate fees. I therefore didn't know to ensure I was charged as a bike. I will from now on, as long as I remember.
How have you and the wife been? We have to get together again one of these days.

You have a very nice house!
Great pic of you two!The heating bill is outrageous, but it is beautiful.
Thank you. I had a bunch of hideous pictures of us but didn't want to make anyone sick.

I 2nd Frogg Toggs, make sure your jacket is hooded, water will find its way through the neck area.

I love this before and after!!
It just looks proper now. Nice job.

@DKF Texas I guess I didn't look close enough at the shroud. I thought it came all the way down to the bottom of the frame.
I took this pic, you can see it ends right above the circles. That 4" gap should allow plenty of air flow. Alpha probably didn't open a hole, though it may help a little it's not necessary. My apologies to @Turbosling for questioning the Master. -
Troy from Alpha put the radiator shroud on mine and I too have the skid plate. My feet did not fry which is so nice! I did notice once I got home driving around town the temp readout seemed to be higher than normal...one of my local buddies thought it might have something to do with the skid plate and shroud...sooooo I do think altering the skid plate would be helpful...now just where to alter.....?
I would have thought that @Turbosling and crew would know to cut that section out. The plate is solid across the whole bottom. Have you looked under there to see if they opened the section right behind the radiator? With the shroud behind the radiator that air is routed to flow down. With no hole the size of the shroud exit in the skid plate there is no real flow through the radiator.

That has to be the biggest Pawn Shop out there. Very cool trip so far @Slingshot Garage . I enjoy your updates. Stay safe and cool and keep on Sling'n buddys!

@Slinger35 preach on brother!! Alpha's name is Alpha for good reason, it keeps them striving to maintain that TOP spot.
I agree with you on power felt. I had only the Alpha side exit and noticed a slight increase in power(wrecked in crash). I then only had the Alpha CAI on mine and didn't notice a huge difference in power, but with the Alpha CAI and Alpha Header I got in MV I felt a significant difference. I just added a Fab Factory hi-flo cat exhaust to the other two items and with an open exhaust (like most aftermarket exhausts) WOW is right.
To Alpha's credit, Henry offered to fix my side exit for me. My wife complained about fumes with the side exit. I never noticed them, but I don't sit over there and thought I'd try something new for her. Henry offered me a variable exhaust at a great price and I would have jumped all over it if the FF one was not already at my house waiting for install. I went with the Fab Factory because it was a one off/prototype at a greatly reduced price, which is something cool to have (it looks and sounds awesome). I really love the Alpha crew but I didn't want to look like a total fanboy. Which I am!
A list of my Alpha wears....Oil Cap
Coil Pack Cover
CAI
Header
Side Exit Exhaust
Single Adjustable Shocks
Transmission Dust Cover
Skid Plate
Manifold Heat Shield(gave to a Slinger after installing header)
Hats
ShirtsAnd a bronze grill coming soon, right @Turbosling ?
- I love me some Alpha!

I have the Alpha skid plate I bought for my '15 that I totalled. I have a '16.5 now, the heat shroud behind the radiator does direct air straight down between radiator and engine. As you suspect, the skid plate needs to be cut out where that deflected air is being discharged. I have not done it yet, but cutting a rectangle into the plate is on my to-do list.

Glad you guys are alright and home safe @mniron . I too bounce back and forth on a 4 point harness. In Mavis's situation I would think she is better for not having it. Cracked rib on cup or held upright where the barb wire can do a real number on her. I would opt for cracked rib.
The Slingshot does very poorly in heavy rain, everyone needs to remember these stories when they think about pushing forward in a storm. Be safe and Sling On!!

As the title says, THANKS A LOT Mark. For the great ride/day. The great buff, stickers, shirts, smiles, thrills, friendship, humor.......... You are Awesome!!
-
Get after it @Slingshot Garage , I hope it's everything you were after Sound and Power wise. Everyone can agree that Alpha turbo is a very beautiful piece of work to look at. Sound and speed are more personal.

there is A LOT of video and pictures to sift thru..... y'all will be so tired of SSITS by the time I get them posted....
At least you remembered to take a lot of pics and vids. I told myself as I was heading to MV, "take a lot of pictures, you didn't last year and regretted it". I failed myself again. I get all caught up in the moments I don't think to take a picture.
Please post away, then I can download them. It will seem like I took them.
