It isnt hot or cold outside. It's just humid and very sticky.

I just reluctantly put my trailer cover on the slingshot. And now I'm as sweaty as if I had jumped in a pool.

I'm leaving now. It slacked up. Be there soon as I can drive it.

I want everyone to see that I'm up and ready to roll. Right on time.

As I was shaving I swore I heard thunder. I did not think it was going to rain till much later in the week for where I live.

Anyway here is what I'm looking at outside. I can obviously put the cover on my slingshot or even hook to my big enclosed trailer but that doesn't help the visibility.

I'll be there soon as this mess passes by me..

I have a 2015 Ram 3500 dually mega cab and I love that truck. Have 110,000 miles on it and has never had a problem with it. Going to keep it till it wont go any longer. I just cant believe the mark up that the dealers put on that TRX.

I had to explain to the dealer that he could sell me the truck at msrp or they could keep it. There are some dealers actually offering a small discount to sell the units that are in transit to the dealerships.

I had to hunt everywhere to find a truck with all the options I wanted installed. The only two it didn't have was the spare tire rack in the bed and the roll bar. Both of those options make the bed of the truck completely useless. I don't haul much in the bed except boxes of network wire and a few tool boxes I use daily. I just install a three flip bed cover to keep it all dry.

Yea. I have had pure hell with my Raptor. It has been in the shop for a total of a little over 8 months of its life. It has had 2 transmissions, 1 transfer case, 1 drive shaft, 1 rear chunk, 1 right side whole turbo, 1 cam phaser, 2 front hubs, 1 rear axel seal, 1 oil pan and gasket, 2 transmission coolers and lines, and seat heaters. And I'm positive I have left some other stuff out. You never know what new problem will pop up on your daily drive. It's under warranty but I get tired of driving loaner vehicles. I can honestly say it is 100% perfect today so it's a perfect day to go swap it for the RAM....

What surprises most people is that fact that I have never modified my Raptor with any performance tunes or products. I have never had it offroad either. However,, I do run the absolute sh!t out of it on the highway. But even on the highway I have never tried to do anything dumb like spin the tires. I just drive it fast for long stretches of time.

I'm leaving my house in 20 minutes headed to Atlanta to pick the new truck up. I'll post some pics of it once Lewis and I take possession of it.

Whatever you do.... Do not let anyone talk you into a clutch disk with metal pucks on both sides of the disk. You will not like it.

You can use it in heavy traffic. But you will wish you didn't have it after about 5 minutes of slightly bumping it to move forward.

Get the disk that has fiber on one side and metal pucks on the other. It turned out to be a really good clutch that let you slip it just enough to take off at a red light easily.

Other than that tid bit of info i can't think of much else that is difficult to do when swapping the disk out.

I might switch to a lighter flywheel while I had it apart.

Or you could just shitcan the whole clutch and manual transmission and go with an automatic. Nothing like having literally instant shifts. I can go thru 1st 2nd and 3rd and you can't even hear it shift.

Here is a video where you can hear how quick it shifts.

    Just noticed this thread....

I can remember sitting in the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham building the initial forum. My wife and daughter were going their Christmas shopping in the attached Galeria mall. I also remember why I was building the site. I know that I was pissed off about my post being deleted. I also remember having the 2nd or 3rd highest post count and taking time to do a ton of informational post with clear high detail pics. And then I would post something and it would mysteriously come up deleted. I also remember making post to the Admin of the site to address a problem moderator on the site.

I remember that their site was sold to the biggest online forum website company. That in my opinion was the nail that sealed their eventual doom. Nothing pisses me off worse than going to a site and being bombarded by advertisers that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic of the forum. I will continue to keep this site free from random pop up adverts. We all get enough of that pop up crap everywhere else on the web. We dang sure don't need pop up ads and misdirection where we come to relax and catch up with everyone's post.

I will be in Maggie Valley later in the day on Tuesday and be staying till Sunday. I'm staying at the comfort inn. I will have cards to pass out and several versions of the websites decals to pass out. I could setup the enclosed trailer but I don't see the need to go thru all that. I will also leave some cards at some of the vendors booths. I don't see it being a problem but I will make sure with Scott that he doesn't care if I handle the site's business that way. That will also bring people to their tents if they are needing some cards or sticker.

That way I can get out and walk around and talk to everyone. I am looking forward to seeing everyone. Since DDM takes care of the white beasts needs I'm sure I'll be close by their tent. If you see my sling I should be somewhere nearby.

My daughter Ally graduated from Birmingham Southern this week. She has finished the first part of her journey to becoming an attorney this weekend. I have said it many times, I couldn't be happier and more proud of anything in the world. She was offered a scholarship at several law schools and she decided to take the offer from Cumberland at Samford in Birmingham.

I can't believe that we have had this forum running long enough for most of yall to follow her journey from the time she got her car at age 16 till she graduated with her Bachelors degree.

Which brings me to something else that fits this topic. I can't remember if I posted this already (my days have been a blur lately.). I posted on here when I bought her first car way back when she was 16. She was so proud of her new Fiat 500.... Well 68,000 miles and 7 years later it was time to get her a new ride. The Fiat had never let her down and had never had a single failure. It still looked and ran perfect. But she had outgrown it and needed something a bit more "adult" sized... She wanted a SUV So I looked around and BMW had the best price on an X1. I told her to drive home and we would load her Fiat on the car trailer and go to Nalley BMW in Atlanta. After some slight negotiation I traded the Fiat off for a new 2021 X1. I loaded the X1 on the trailer so I could get her out of Atlanta. She can drive anywhere and in any kind of traffic but it had been a long day so i figured it couldn't hurt to get her out of the heavy traffic before turning her loose in a new unfamiliar vehicle. She was happy for sure. So far she says she loves it. I drove it down the road about a mile was surprised how quick it was. I believe it has a twin turbo 2.0L. Especially when compared to the 1.4L Fiat... Maybe it will last her as long as the Fiat and keep her safe till she buys her next car.

I found this lift in Atlanta on Facebook marketspace and it was priced fairly reasonable. I figured i would send them a low ball offer and they said yes..... The catch was that it has to be taken apart and removed. It was like new as you can see in the pictures. I don't even think it had been used. It was in a upscale neighborhood and this lady just purchased the house and wanted it gone. She was going to turn the garage into a "sitting and drinking room"

I carried a friend that works out every day with me. I knew we would need some muscle. We left at 3am headed that way... It took us 3 hours to take it apart. We were back in Alabama by 4:00PM

With my 9' ceiling height I should be able to roll around in my chair under the slingshot and do whatever I need to..

I almost have it put together..
