We were just talking about this over the weekend that President Biden needed to come out with a NASCAR race suit on with all his sponsors since it is pretty evident that there are some major players that are calling in their chips for their support in the campaign. At least we would be able to tell who the politicians were really working for it they wore their sponsors on their suits, because they sure aren't working for the average American now. Make them come out like Ricky Bobby and thank all their sponsors before they start an interview would be hilarious.

Many folks tend to think of the Republicans as being favored by business for lower tax rates and reduced regulation, yet the economy has often performed better under Democratic Presidents. I recently read an article reporting the Better Business Bureau's lobbyists are now shifting support from the Republican party to the Democrats since they feel they can achieve more of their goals while still supporting the Republicans to fight those items the BBB doesn't support. as a people, we should always remember Who is donating funds to which politicians and Why.

The Citizens United USSC decision that granted "personhood" to businesses has had a major negative impact because the USSC Judges naively assumed that the people would demand and receive more openness in political contributions, but our politicians have failed to act and prefer that their constituents NOT know who is really funding them and what these contributors want in return for the support.

My personal opinion on the (terribly named) Citizens United decision is that businesses are NOT people and should not have any "right" to use their money to influence our politicians beyond the ability of business executives to contribute their personal funds as they see fit. If a business wants to have "personhood", then the law should allow a business to be placed in jail, shut down, or face meaningful punishment for breaking laws beyond fines. Business decisions are made by the individuals who run them, yet it is rare for individual business leaders to be held personally liable for business decisions that result in laws being broken and damage to individuals or communities.

Voter knowledge of who wants to influence our political leaders and why can only lead to better voting decisions.

We have been very good about wearing masks when we go out around other people and because we can't control what those others do we have been very well aware that those masks are on our faces mostly to protect others from us - - - - now in a few weeks we will finally be protected from them - especially the idiots who either won't wear a mask or wont wear it properly.

You do realize the vaccine is not a guarantee you won't get covid. But we are in the same boat. Get our 2nd shots on 3/4. Will ease our minds also and will feel like we can go out to eat again.

Also, they have no clue how long the shots are effective. This could end up being like the flu & you’ll have to get a shot annually (which is better than anally).

So I assume you're wearing a double mask? The covid has been so politicized that you have to take everything with a grain of salt.

If they come out with a vaccine that lasts longer than a few months, like the mumps, measles and all the others......

AND if they due the PROPER research on the positive AND NEGATIVE aspects of it........

AND once it has been given the proper LONG TERM exposure by all the "test subjects"........

AND once I can decide for myself if the positive outweighs the negative......

I MAY take it....... NEXT YEAR, or I may not.

I don't take the flu shot because the negative is not worth it in my book.

So.... to all you "test subjects", PLEASE line up and take the shot,

I encourage you all to get it as soon as possible so nothing will change,

you will STILL have to wear your mask.

It's also pretty harsh and judgmental to call everyone who doesn't do what you do an idiot with absolutely no knowledge of their circumstances.

Choice it what makes this country great. Hope it stays that way.

I have to agree with both you and AllIn5450

I had SARS after a trip to Hong Kong for work, It was before it was announced and anyone knew what it was I was pretty sick and the doctors did not have a clue. I survived and it has not come back to haunt me. I came back fro a trip in mainland China last December with a pretty bad respiratory condition and fever. Most likely the Wuhahn Virus (call it what it is) it took a few weeks to get over it but I survived. One day I will get the antibody test to confirm.

I have no desire to get the vaccine since it has no real track record. Kind of like buying a car the first year out. Lets face it the survival rate from this virus is in the 95%+ range. So why not just concentrate on the people who are in the most danger.

Simple Answer is Politics - you do not hear anyone talking about the impact it is having on our children who are losing 2 years of education and suffering from mental effects of isolation. Have you seen the new suicide stats for school age children?

Wow. So if someone has already had the virus, or has had the vaccine, or has been in total 100% isolation and has no chance of being currently infected, or only has one lung, or a thousand other things I could come up with, and chooses to not wear a mask, they should avoid doing what they want or need to do because you or others were there first. Sorry I'm not on board with that. Your feelings don't rule society. Neither do mine. As Frankie55 said, we still make our own choices. Maybe if you're in public and someone walks up to you with no mask, you should choose to turn and walk away from the 'idiot'.
