As of a few minutes ago our Health Care system here in Georgetown will get to me in about April, 35,000 people ahead of me and they are only receiving 900 shots per day.

FunCycle , try your local drug stores (CVS) or local grocery stores. I was able to quickly schedule and get my vaccine at my local Ingles grocery store that has a pharmacy inside. Hope this helps speed things up a little.

Heck, Walmart, Winn Dixie and Publix have it here, as well as CVS.
But don't fret, I will send you mine.
I have no intention of getting it.
I haven't had a flu shot, EVER
And I expect to get a Covid shot NEVER.
If I need to go somewhere, I will fly myself there or drive myself there.
I have a license for both modes of transportation.

I might the only skeptic here but I imagine the covid vaccination will be just as effective at eliminating covid as the flu shot has been at eliminating the flu.

Managed to get my wife signed up for her first dose next Saturday - - - I will be much happier after we both have that first one done and out of the way - - even if we don't have the full protection until well after the second dose just having the first should provide enough protection to greatly reduce the odds of ending up in the hospital
With my wife working as a dealer in a casino on tribal land she has been at much greater risk of exposure and it has made us both very nervous it will be nice if we can relax a bit more
My wife and I are both in the medical field. We have both had our second shots. Can't say either of us had any side affects...except for the strange urge to have sex all day!!!! Darnedest thing!!! I kinda' like it, though!!!

They send a weekly email describing how many vaccine doses they've received and haven't received anything since Texas started reporting they had an increase in vaccine doses deliveries. If we haven't heard something in another couple weeks, I guess we'll try to sign up with CVS since we already get our meds there. Of course, by then, who knows how long the wait-list will be?

When Georgia called and they checked around a little the local Walmart got us in in about a week, that was a week ago that we had the shot. Will get the second as we get back from Florida.
Son in Florida called. Quick test says he is positive, but has a mild case. Quarantine for a week and then retest. He is a meat cutter for Winn-Dixie, so a lot of contact with the public.
He assures us that he will be fine, but the parents here will understand.

My wife's health care provider is worthless as far as this goes - on their website they have a one paragraph disclaimer saying they are not getting involved in the vaccine process and then have a link to go to the county vaccine website
My provider on the other hand has been right on top of things, as soon as the vaccine became available they sent out a text saying as soon as they had enough they would start notifying those eligible and then last week I got a text asking me to reply "Y" if I still wanted it, I did and within a few minutes they texted me available appointment times
what's funny with her medical provided by her work we expected them to be more on top of this than my medicare - - we were very wrong
Until this year, my Wife and I both maintained our Federal Employees Health Benefit plan (for drug coverage) and since Medicare is supposed to become the primary insurer at age 65, we also signed up for the Medicare Advantage program offered by our health clinic since they don't accept any other Medicare coverage. Last year I discovered that all Federal Employees insurance plans coordinates expenses with regular Medicare plans, but for some reason not with Medicare Advantage plans, so we suspended our Federal Health insurance coverage and added the drug coverage available thru our Medicare provider's plan that came at no additional cost to what we had already been paying for Medicare. As a result, we are each saving over $220 each month, although we still face some increased costs once either of us enters Medicare's Prescription Donut Hole. Fortunately, since we suspended our Federal Employees Health coverage and didn't just cancel it, we can elect to pick a new plan at the end of the year for drug coverage. So far, we've been pretty happy with our KelseyCare Medicare Advantage plan. It's one of just 21 5-Star-rated Medicare Advantage programs nationwide.
Okay - just got the first injection about a hour ago - got the Pfizer version - - as far as these things go it was a very good experience, they were doing groups of 10 or 11 and it all went very smoothly. Also right at the beginning they gave everyone in our 8:30 group appointment cards to get out second shots on Tuesday march 9th at 8:30. I like that that is all scheduled so there is no having to deal with trying to get scheduled and they are staying right on the recommended 21 days.
So far no soreness, but it is probably too soon. I will report back tomorrow if there are any changes
Had my first shot of Pifzer the other day. Had a mild headache and very minor arm soreness.
I can hardly feel the micochip. (;->
