Thoughts on why this might not work on an 18?
Nice find... The Rockford pods for $180 don't look bad either.

The Polaris alarm won’t work with the ride command radio that came out in 2018.

Makes sense, have to go back through the instructions and see where it hooks to ride command, I missed that! Good call.
I have had and still do have scorpio alarms on all my bikes, and my latest bikes with 24/7 coverage.......can track and pull up on cell and see your bikes movement on a map (there's a monthly fee for that) i used it when i rode my harley from NY to KC... Love their products....
I also have mines hooked up to my fuel pump, if activated it will disable my fuel pump, just something else to piss the bad guy off...

Thats true, if you want to use the plug and play harness provided by polaris it just fits 2015 to 2017 , however the Scorpio Alarm can be tapped into any vehicle system if you are willing to source the appropriate circuits and tap into them accordingly. Its only the plug and play harness not the alarm system that is not compatible with 2018 and newer ride command systems as far as I can tell.

That's the way I kind of see it too. I circled what I think is the connection point that instead of using the plug I'll have to tap into these. I also heard some have proximity issues with it on the lowest setting, so figuring out where that should go like all alarms will be key I think. At $87 shipped to me, I have to try to make one work!
If anybody were to do a search they would find that I have pretty much been anti-alarm for various reasons. But at this price, and it is plug-in-play into our 2015, hey, what the heck!

I got mine at the low low price of $448.95. And it is a piece of crap. Ran my battery down because it likes to set itself when towed inside my trailer, and then merrily chirp til it kills the battery. For $89 it would be a better deal, suppose I can get a refund?

My reasoning exactly and I dont need another helmet but at $100.00 for a $400 dollar helmet I was going to grab one of those too , but every size except small was already sold out

It's not always an advantage to have a big brain kev !

I dont have the factory radio in my 17....,and i have a scorpio alarm installed....
This alarm showed up today - can't beat that price! Now to make it work I'm pretty sure I need this harness that did not come with it - https://ridescorpio.com/shop/har-1-main-harness/
End result I won't have the turn signals/break lights flash. I will still have the proximity alarm and ignition interrupt feature wise. With that HAR-1 harness you could also purchase the GEN-1 connector kit, which has the 4 wires I showed in image above and wire those into those lights that way. I went through the wiring in the service manual this morning and although I'm sure it's there I don't want to mess with that so will just settle for lights not flashing on alarm/disarm.
Tripod I see you have this looking at an old thread and others - where did you mount the proximity alarm? I was thinking behind the radio, but the more I think about it I just know with my luck I'll need to or want to adjust it and won't want to pull radio just to do that. Glovebox? Under hood in center back by firewall? Do the microwaves from it only go from the level it's at and up? I'm assuming so since it says that it has to be mounted facing up...

.....would you be talking about this unit hook up to the Scorpio alarm system......it detects any movement from one side all the way to the other side.....

Yes Sir, exactly it! Did you put the alarm itself then in rear deck? I thought about that, but ignition interrupt wire to short unless you interrupted fuel pump? hmmm

Wow, that was a long ago. I do remember mounting the main piece close to (inboard side) of the ECU. The sensor I put behind the radio but could reach up inside from the engine bay to retrieve it.
