My slingshot stalls when I first start it

    My 2018 Slingshot would start and run for a few seconds on higher revs as you’d expect when you first start it, but then instead of going down to ~1k idle, it just stalls out. Usually at that point the stability control light comes on, so I turn the key off, back on, restart it and it’s fine.


    Anyone else have this issue? It’s annoying more than anything, and makes me wonder if there’s an underlying problem.

    Are you completely stock(engine,ECU Tune)? there are different things that could be based on your answer.

    Does the engine run rough at low rpms?

    What type of gas do you normally run?

    Is not that I am mean, I just don't sugarcoat what I say.

    My 2018 SLR does the same thing, only when cold. I let the fuel system fully pressurize before I start and that has stopped the stalling. I just turn the key and wait to start until the fuel pump shuts off. Probably a faulty sensor which would require a trip to the dealer since I'm still under warranty. Not exactly the correct fix but it has worked for me. Good Luck.
