Everything on the 2nd Amendment

  • I agree, and yes, it is sad that in the increasingly "liberal" court of public opinion, it's becoming less of a burden to prove your guilt and more of a burden to prove your innocence. I'm quite disturbed by recent stories about gangs of violent individuals attacking stopped vehicles and nearly destroying them in the melee that ensues. I'm not the type of person that would shoot someone for that. The car can always be repaired, but when I see how violent some of those idiots become, I can't help but to think, if one of them actually entered my vehicle, in an attempt to get to me or my wife, I believe one well-placed shot to the head would eliminate the threat and I'd sleep like a baby.

makes me very glad I live out in the desert where I do - - perhaps its the heat, but around here the crazies seem to calm down - - seriously, throughout all the BS and ANFTIFA & BLM insanity that has been happening across the country at most all we have had were a few very small peaceful rallies that even included the local police - - And so far this new anti Asian / Pacific Islander stupidity seems to be staying outside of our valley as well

I guess when people have to make the drive to get here they would rather hangout by the pool and drink

Funny side story - as many of you may know my wife is Filipino and she is a dealer in one of our local casinos - anyway she was dealing to a group at her table and one of the players asked her if she was scared or worried about someone hurting her. Before she could answer another player at the table who plays there all the time and knows my wife well looked over at the guy who asked the question and said - "are you crazy? have you ever seen a pissed off Filipina?"

The guy is right too - being married to one and knowing all of the ladies in my family - - - you don't want to piss off a Filipina - - - especially if shes got a machete

  • My wife and I belonged to the Fl-Am Club when stationed in GTMO. Neither of us are Filipino but my wife worked with many of the ladies and we had many friends that were. Wonderful people and I hate to see what is now happening. I do note that the attacks on the streets are mainly being conducted by one race.

  • I believe if the issue of shooting someone has to be life threatening. That being said my shot will be to kill that individual and threat is over.... Then the courts will start, but the threat is over!

  • @Boomer That is right. Don't draw your gun unless you are going to use it. If the other guy hasn't showed that he has intent to kill you you are banishing a weapon and in most states that is a crime. You better be able to get that gun out fast and stop the threat because a guy with a knife can cover a lot of ground in a very short time. In most cases a knife is more dangerous then a gun in close quarters. Your shots best be on target and have the stopping power to remove the threat.

  • I'm not sure how many SC people have been following this...and seeing it get passed over the past few years, but this bill has finally made some progress. Now if the state senate will move it along.

  • Constitutional carry should be legal nationwide because that’s what the 2nd Amendment says (the right to keep AND BEAR arms).

But here’s the problem. Let’s say your state allows constitutional carry & no longer issues carry permits. That’s all well & good until you want to leave your state. Uh oh. There’s no reciprocity if you don’t have a permit. The best scenario is that a state allows constitutional carry but still issues permits to those that want them. I know AZ is that way.

The best scenario is nationwide constitutional carry (not gonna happen) or at least nationwide carry permit reciprocity (like your drivers license which is good anywhere).

The current state by state patchwork laws on gun issues is absolutely frustrating & absurd.
