Anyone know if MNIRON is still making hood pins?

flipr I believe the mniron unit are very good, but gooseman and some others are using they really like --- Tom will get this and I sure he will respond.

As Ghost has said this is the best way to go. Zero issues and secure. They require some skill and steady hand to install but once done they are the best. Thanks to rabtech for being the pioneer in this and sharing his ideas

It sure would be great if someone who had a steady hand, talent and balls of steel would offer to do the install at Maggie Valley. I'd be there at the front of the line. Already having holes drilled for the hood buttons now, I would hate to cut up the hood and not have them in the proper position.

Rab had the other pins before installing the new gadgets. I thought he posted a "how to" or at least posted pictures of the operation as it was done. That was past yesterday so I really don't remember.

Maybe if I get Rabtech some boiled peanuts and a cold brew, I might be able to exploit his talents. If I destroid the hood, there's no way i could look Painter in the eye and say I screwed up

They are made by areocatch here is a quick search not sure if these are the ones i used or not as i dont have them in front of me but do a search

Hood Pins

Summit Racing has all of the hood pins that you may like. The round button pins IMHO only last around 5,000 miles before the clip in the button is worn out or the ball at the end of the bolt/pin is worn out. This is even with the proper adjustment with (NO FREE PLAY) to get the most miles out of them. Since the install on Sling I many miles ago I have changed at least 6 sets (or 12 pins and buttons). I think I still have 2 new sets left. This last time the button itself came apart. So now I am just going to use the buttons with no pins just to cover the holes. It is not worth the trouble and I do not advise the install of these on anyone's Slingshot. If you want to do something like this I would advise you to us the type that rabtech and a few others have been installing on their Sling's.

I just removed the worn out pins and replaced the button that the center was out of. So now it just looks like I have hood pins. While listening to Wolfman Jack on the radio. Some of you old timers may remember him. He played just across the border from San Diego in Mexico with 150,000 watts of power. I met him in Florence, S.C. where he retired to around 1999. 17(18 counting this one) replies and we still don't know if mniron is still in the hood pin business.

Yep, sucks when you have to put life on hold to meet other requirements...

Work, travel, etc....
