I have an 2018 Si....And at low speed , pulling away from a light, And slowly turning into my garage from the rear right underside it sounds like a rock in the belt.....But it isn't, And at speed the sound isn't there....I had a few bearing go south over the years so that's what i'm thinking that might be it....Its an 80 mile trip to the dealer...And he's on a partial lock down...Only repairs and no waiting in the dealership..So i haven't called him yet just hopping its something small and someone here might have a idea ....?
Crunching noise...

Does it do it while turning in either direction? Does it do it while coasting (clutch in or in neutral) or only while under pressure, in gear?

Only in gear on light acceleration and also moving slow turning either way into my garage...At speed and hard acceleration no noise....

Maybe time to clean the belt. I had a grinding/crunching sound a suspected a bearing, turned out to be a dirty belt. Easy to wash to eliminate the possiblity.

As you suggested i cleaned it last night and again this morning still there....

Well it was worth a try, and did not cost much. Now you need to see that dealer again. Sorry.

Can you jack the rear up enough to get the rear tire off the ground?
If so, then grasp the tire at at opposite side and see if there is any play or noise while twisting wriggling...
Spin it slowly and listen for any grinding. Then put tranny in low gear and try spinning slowly and listen.
While jacked up look at angle drive and inspect for any shiny spots, oil leaks etc

over the winter I also had a poping crunching sound from the rearand I found the problem to be that the two rear pully nuts needed to be retorqued, took it to the dealer they retorqued it and fixed that problem. While it was there they decided to replace the swingarm bearings, why I dont know but now I have a ringing in the rear that sounds like an old bicycle bell.

bad differencial noise video
-
Differential noise videos are useless to demonstrate a SS right angle drive noise. Here is my video of my SS right angle drive noise that Polaris first told me was normal until they watched my video. Then they replaced it.

Thats just what it sounds like......Thanks...

Is this a final drive change?

nothing since. Others have had it replaced again. I believe there has been a design change in newer models.
