Take care wicked reaper. The last 10 days I was pretty sure I had it. About 85 percent of the symptoms. Did a tele appt with my doc on Monday but because I still had taste and smell he felt it was pneumonia. Sure enough by Thursday I no longer had a fever and lungs feel nearly normal, but still a bit down on energy. But to be sure, starting tomorrow I’m going to start main lining Lysol and sniffing Clorox to make sure I’m disinfected on the insides too.

Looks like a great day for it - If I were going to make a run to the coast in the Slingshot I would probably go for Ocean Side Harbor - - to avoid the freeway as much as possible I would go up over 74 out of Palm Desert - over to Temecula then on the 15 for 10 / 11 miles to the 76 and then take that on down to the harbor - - normally if we did this we would have a nice lunch overlooking the harbor - I forget the name of the place, but there is a nice restaurant on an upstairs deck next to the lighthouse with great views. Unfortunately with everything closed I think I will stick closer to home - - even 10 to 11 miles of freeway is too much without a reward at the end 
Love Oceanside Harbor - you can see the upper deck here to the left of the lighthouse, but I took this in 2009 before they opened the restaurant.
I don't know about your home depot, but ours just started doing curb side pickup - - in the past I could always order and pay online for pickup at my local store - it is nice it lets them run around and get everything together and then I just go inside and it was waiting for me - - now because of thei Covid-19 cr@p they have a bunch of reserved parking spaces with numbers on them and a sign with the store phone number and extension - now I place my order and pay on line and when they text me to tell me its ready I just go park in one of the marked spaces, call the number and tell them my order info and they bring it out to my car - - - works great - no waiting in line to get in and it also keeps me from being tempted by all of the goodies I might otherwise see

Welcome to the "World of Slingshot Insanity" Lots of good people here, with lots of good stuff to share, and just a liitle 'BS' form time to time. Northern Indiana here and Sun is out and temps going above 50 so I will be out a little this pm.
I made a few (about 50 different sizes)) surgical mask straps for the doctors and caregiver who take care of my Barbie at the Hospital, she showed them a picture where she used one and they said that's cool it would help with the ears. So I figured why not make some. If they like them I'll gonna make howmany they want (all at no charge they take care of all of us)

- - Yesterday Palm Springs just extended the restrictions on Short term lodging until May 31 - no rental homes, no hotels no nothing in the way of tourists to stay until May 31
are there actually places open to stay in the Carmel / Moro Bay area? - - we have time shares in Pismo & Monterey along with many others up and down the coast but they are all closed until May 15 and they are talking about extending

We have checked in the area and some restaurants- perhaps take out- but some businesses are open. Hotels are booking and our rooms are booked. As when we were out on the coast yesterday from San Diego to Newport Beach “society” is taking this into their own hands. We got ice cream in Encinitas at the walk up service, thousands and I mean thousands at the beaches in Orange Country and if you want a slice of pizza you can get one. Dana harbor as well as Newport filled with paddle boards, boats, kayaking etc. The horse has left the barn. They can’t arrest tens of thousands of people. State parks are closed yes but Highway 1 is open. San Diego’s beaches are still closed but Orange Country’s are open but parking lots are closed.Go figure. Stop and go through Laguna as cars as far as you can see..
We are going.
Well I just checked- water is a lovely 79 air is 102 and staying at home doesn’t seem all that bad to me. Plus seems like almost all the restaurants are doing curbside pickup so what the heck.

As a side note hope you have a great trip and ride - our next planned trip is a week at our place in Big Bear it’s not until Third week of June so hopefully things will be more back to normal by then

102? How bad does summer get?
this is actually just an early bit of a heat wave - normally we would be in the low 90's Starting June we will probably be 100 or more every day and in July and august days over 110 are not uncommon. The record high here in the Summer is 123 - - but thats only been a few times - hitting 120 or so is not uncommon most summers - - Normally I expect us to go up over 100 early June and to stay there virtually every single day until mid to late September.
But one thing you need to keep in mind is that we dont have much if any humidity - right now its 102, but the humidity is 10% - - so that makes it feel much better - - to me humidity makes all the difference. I am much more comfortable at 102 and 10% than I would be at 80 and 75% - - I hate humidity
Took the really long way to go get a burger for lunch. Took an hour and a half to get to Burger Fi 11 miles away. Hate it when that happens. Now enjoying an adult beverage in my favorite tumbler.
Nice day so I took a nice 70 mile ride to the gas station and grocery store. The 5 mile ride home from the store packed with groceries was fun too.
