Corona Virus

  • It lends credence to that video that youtube pulled with Dr. Erickson asking why are doctors being "told" to add death counts to covid even if it wasn't covid. I do believe the numbers are exaggerated.. to what degree... I do not know. To the point of wether or not it is related to covid, we all have viruses in our systems... strep, staff and the like... We carry that with us..and if I have a strep virus in my body not affecting me, and have a heart attack they say I died of a heart attack not of strep. I think the way they are counting now makes more sense... Died with Covid or Died from Covid...

    .

Doctors in four Florida counties have reported being pressured to list ALL deaths as COVID-19 related ....These four counties (of roughly 70) make up more than 50% of all deaths in the state One county has an "official" count of 4,436 while the county directly to its North has 321 and the counties directly to its West and NW have 21, 35, and 9 (yes 9).

    ........ :/

    .

:REDSS: The ghost of SLingshot past ......

  • they are pushing with FEAR....to get everyone afraid to vote in person....they want total mail in voting....easier to cheat....anything for the win....if they win....kiss this country GOODBYE...you may as well learn chinese ....or North Korean...

  • I would like to know WHO is requiring this to happen. I think that all states should do like Colo. is doing. (Find out what the people really died from)

  • Possibly there is a funding issue related to the # of Corona Virous infections/deaths reported per area? More deaths more money. I certainly would never put that out of the question.

  • On the other hand I have always wished people would think more about others than they seem to do. For instance I think people who go to work sick when they work with other people are total pigs. they put their personal needs above the health and needs of those they work with. I also think that employers who allow or even encourage employees coming in sick are assholes - - -

    I resemble that remark.

I had one of those employers for 21 years.

If you were scheduled for duty or an appointment, you better be there on time. On time meant before the clock rolled on that minute.

My employer believed if you were well enough to see "the doc", you were well enough to work. If you could not perform your function, you better have a "release from duty" from "the doc". (Read that as... If you needed to call for an ambulance to get to work, you were excused from duty.)

So, here I am twenty-six years later after retiring from that employer...

    Still making my scheduled appointments...

being threatened with late fees and missed appointment charges due to too many others lax handling of appointments.

Most of my employers since "that employer" expected a job to be performed. My employers were always made aware of my status during those few times that I was incapable of working or if I showed up sick to perform.

But, due to the lax attitude of too many others... points system was incorporated. Received two points toward unemployment due to scheduled month long recovery from back surgery. It was the least amount of points they could give me.

Retired two years ago from working...

    Not life.

Many of us shared that first employer and experiences may have varied a by a bit... performance of duty was main line.

Dad always told my brothers and I...

If a man is willing to give you a dollar to work, you give him a dollars' worth or more.

So, I will accept that "total pig" with no ill will.

But, if a man is willing to give me a dollar...

not gonna stand there and ask for another.

Slingshot Flyer! Well, of course it's red... :REDSS:

  • My wife works as a dealer in a casino and her work requires all employees to show up or receive points - - even if you are sick you need to show up and then be sent home if you dont want points - if you are not on the clock early before the shift starts - points - they are very strict 12 points and you are fired, no excuses - a no show and a no call - you are gone - even if you are in a wreck and taken to the hospital - they dont care - it is an indian owned casino, on tribal land and not subject to any state employment laws and there is no such thing as trying to claim wrongful termination

I fully understand what that is like and I hold no negative feelings for the workers having to at least show up when they are sick so that they can be sent home

on the other hand if you are sick and show up just because you want the hours or the dollars when you were free to call in - - - then I have to ask - what about your co workers, the ones you will get sick and their families and children that will get sick because you wouldn't just stay home until you were not contagious - - sick, coughing, sneezing and obviously contagious - - by what right do people think get to go and share that with others?

as we have just witnessed from the meat packing assembly lines.....sick people coughing and sneezing all over the meat isn’t exactly a good thing.....so how many other food products are contaminated on a daily basis because of sick people showing up? Thinking about it makes me sick....so gloves and masks in the food industry should be standard operating procedures along with temperature taking to get in the plant and a lie detector to make sure you aren’t lying about not being sick...

To be fair I’ve gone to work sick (cold) ..and probably passed my sickness along to others. But I wasn’t in food prep...my employer required doctors excuses too....we could take off for our Own death with a 3 day notice......

  • I have worked for good people, and I have worked for ASSHOLES.

My favorite boss was Bob McCoy, who ran the Waterloo Courier in Waterloo IA. A gentleman, always approachable (I know he personlly lent money to employees once or twice), fair, honest . . . but he expected YOU to treat his business the way HE treated you. I never heard anyone who worked for him say a bad thing about him. How many present day bosses can say that?

  • I have always been like that too. Go to work and do my job, better than some and not as good as others. After working for the "phone company" for 42 years towards the end, it was no longer go above and beyond it was just give an honest 8. Never took advantage of that place like so many did, but as the "new" management came in they were afraid to confront someone not doing their job and just gave that work to someone who would work, thus the honest 8 rule for me.

When the going gets tough.... Downshift.

got to be careful when deciding to wear gloves - gloves are great for protecting the person wearing them if they know how to remove them properly, but they are horrible for preventing the spread of germs/viruses. If a person wearing the gloves touches a contaminated surface the gloves will carry/transmit the contaminate / virus to whatever the wearer touches after that - - gloves are just like any other solid surface and viruses can live a very long time on them - if your goal is self protection gloves can be great, if your goal is preventing the spread of viruses gloves are worthless - - better off washing your hands after touching things and before touching other things

  • On a good note I saw on TV today reported by (I believe) South Korea? I caught it on the fly but I believe this is how it was explained. Of 300 people who were infected and later shown to be re-infected there was zero signs of any of those people having the ability to spread the virous to other people. Apparently they tested multiple contacts from those people and noted no spreading. Not suggesting if you had the virous to assume anything or the info is reliable.

  • What has closer personal contact a daycare or a bar/restaurant? How many diapers do bars change? How many runny noses are they wiping? How many are crawling around on the floor?

    Daycares are open....bars aren’t .........hmmmmm

No daycares open around here - bars only for curbside pickup

and yes I think it weird that bars are allowed to sell drinks for curbside pickup - dont know what they are doing to keep people from violating open container laws, but they are doing it

It has to be in the trunk of the car....Max 64oz....

the only reason I can see for selling the mixed drinks is for the tax Money.....
states are screwed and I predict a big tax increase for state Income Taxes....sales tax...country tax...school tax...
