I think it kind of goes along with the fin in the back. I like the look.
What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies....?

i had to cut a hole to mount it here, i would hate to have to move it lol. That is why i bought a longer whip. and put the power adapter to it. hoping that would boost signal.

Yeah, understand. Try angling it away from the roll hoops, and anything metallic in general.

Scorpio Alarm out, Slingshot Alarm installed. From what I can tell it's an Excalibur alarm setup to work on the slingshot. 5x the price of the Scorpio I got on clearance and after the first year will cost me $29/year for the cell service. I don't have to deal with charging those scorpio remotes weekly though and this one has GPS tracking and will alert me if it's set off no matter where I am as long as I have cell service.
Install was as easy as pulling out the head unit. Alarm goes in behind there, GPS antenna mounts up in there along with tapping into power and then ignition interrupt. From there it's a pair of wires to 12v plug in glovebox this is used to show when you have ignition on power/resets the alert counter, also to activate valet mode. Remote RF receiver and shock sensor go in glovebox and then you have two wires running to horn/parking lights. Super easy! I'll pull the battery tender and let it go a few weeks to watch the draw on the main battery as that was the other thing I didn't like about the scorpio (power hog). The plus side with the app you can set an alert to let you know when battery voltage does drop and can check anytime via the app itself. Quick video below showing it working.

Got my Assault vent installed and. I LIKE IT!!!!

I installed my antennea in the rear by the fin next to the roll bar, I wonder if that might be causing the interference?
I would suspect your problem isn't where you've mounted it, but more the grounding plane issue that BKL spoke of earlier, unless you have taken that into consideration already. I've thought of buying a replacement antenna, similar to the one you have and mounting it somewhere on the back deck, but I was waiting for someone else to do it first and tell us all how it worked out.

You may want to try one of those stubby masts - I have used them on tractors and other stuff for radios and they have worked
-
I maybe wrong but I thought that FM antennas were horizonal and normally run along the top of the windshield. Amazon has the horizonal antennas but they do sell vertical ones also.

You can use a vertical antenna - same as on most cars

Antenna...? Spotify doesn’t have enough music for ya??
-
the grounding @ issue
I would have to put my money on the same thing. the Power adapter that hooks up through the antennae and into the back of the radio of course is grounded and i thought that would ground it enough, but i guess i will have to try to ground it somehow from the frame itself and see what happens. MACAWS , I did the stubby one first and it didnt work so i thought i would have to get a much longer whip and it didnt make any difference at all. they both pulled in the same reception. SoCal , I blue tooth to listen to music and yes sir it is spotify, but i can only listen to my liked songs for so long lol. i havent found one that is similar to radio.

NNEVES57 I get it and I wear out my playlist as well however perhaps check in on the daily list they give you. Those guys over there sure do know how to use their algorithms and find out what you like and spoonfeed it🙂
Big brother knows what you’re listening to😎
Not me...buy a dis and put music on memory stick ... Glenn Miller---Elvis---Hank Williams---Reba---Yanni keeps me confused also..

Actually, I do Pandora, but there's a local classic rock station that I would love to listen to if the reception was better. 😎

I am old school... I have over 8k songs on my Iphone and just put them on random..... It is enough music to not hear the same thing for around 25 days...
