I think I salved the mystery of what Dave@DDMWORKS has been doing in his test lab. If the prototype is for sale, can I have first crack at bidding on it?
Meanwhile, over at Bill Hahn’s garage…

Nice! Hope it lasts! Your experience may vary, but don't hit with a "tire shine" type spray. Turned mine yellow looking vs white and then had to clean off (power washer did it). I'm back to black for now!

Yes, none of the tire paints last. They are basically made for show purposes. If you want something that will last you could use the rubber glue on letters like I've had for going on 5 years and they clean up nice and white every time.

Thanks for the tip! I used an enamel paint pen not advertised as tire paint. I tried it on my truck three months back and it's still in good shape today (you can see it in the back round) . I think I used tire shine on the truck a month or two ago but not sure. I can't remember what I did yesterday anymore. As long as I still find my way home all is good! I've never heard of glue on letters? If what I have doesn't hold for a decent amount of time it's something to look for.

Back in the late 60's I used regular model paint (Testor's) I was the only person around here to do this. I liked the look of the gold paint to letter the tires

Took a page from the playbook of 3GunSteve. Did some wheel painting. An inexpensive but somewhat tedious process that adds some "Pop".
Frank how about some lug nut caps RED...

Lug Bolt Color Covers for Your Car - ColorLugs™I like that idea but red would make the blue comet even faster. Gotta slow that rocket down! Actually on a second look red might just look good!

I did order a couple more than I needed... I've had them on since 2015 and have lost two. cheap for a pop of color.

If either can provide what info you plugged in to get the correct lug nuts would be appreciated?

Just remember that the RED makes it go faster!

I bought some for mine with the information FunCycle gave me last time we met up together. Bought extras just in case they faded or fell off somehow. It's been a few years and they have not fade, or fell off, so I'm already ahead of the game!!! I did use a little clear silicone inside each cap for extra insurance not to fall off.

I have never had one of the caps to come off.

Perfect, thanks!

I heard from TDS, that a former disgraced forum vendor's speed secret has leaked out of their world Headquarters. Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss it if you no longer go there anymore
