Polaris really did their homework on the interior and suspension. Vehicle feels much more refined OTHER than that auto transmission. I feel like I cam shift faster with my manual. Love the front end. Acceleration maybe felt a little quicker but not by much. I'm good with my 16 but thumbs up to Polaris on this model.

Is the battery under the hood?

Yep look under the header towards the front. That's a lot of heat near that battery. There is a jump port higher up. This Sling feels a lot more "solid" than mine. The flappy fenders are gone. When you hit bumps the car feels much more solid. They really did good work on the suspension. Much easier on the rider. Interior is really good. I want those headlights. Lol

If Polaris were to offer an entire retro-fit kit to upgrade the headlights for previous models......I bet there would be high demand on the kit.
The hood latches, etc appear the same. Perhaps they redesigned the ribbing support to cut down on flappy fender. Although, my 2017 doesn't seem to have that. The front hood stops make contact with the hood and I always make certain that I push both sides of the rear as sometimes the rear latches need that little extra to engage.
I would imagine that, with the lighter engine, they changed valving and/or swaybar. I have changed my shocks and swaybar to DDMWorks and that made a world of difference.
I like the design changes. No plans to trade mine in but, Polaris certainly appears to have improved.

Looking forward to seeing the parade of '20s at future Slingshot events. Just out of curiosity, I wonder if the suspension components on the '20 are compatible with earlier model chasis?

they did a really nice job on the “gap” fillers...

Yes, they did.

You wont have to worry about a retro fit kit. The front end is completely different. And I'm not just talking about where stuff bolts up and things like that. The Frame actually comes to a narrower point in the front of the new slingshot.

2020 Slingshots playing in the rain...
I heard something about a "Ramp up" taking place...
-
Nice! I really like the changes they did to update the front end and interior, especially the automatic! I'll keep mine and admire this one I guess until I go in for service and it tempts me to sit down and run some numbers....

Dont think I would want to play with them in the rain....
My childish 5 year old brain is looking forward to running up on one of the new models on an open road like the interstate. I would even give them a second or two to take off (just to allow them the brief happiness of the thought of winning) before I released the beast on them.
